The Mind Set on the Spirit - Romans 8:7-11

March 30, 2026

In this episode, we explore Romans 8:7–12, where Paul the Apostle explains the sharp contrast between living according to the flesh and living according to the Spirit. The mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God and unable to submit to His law, but those who belong to Jesus Christ are no longer controlled by the flesh—they are indwelt by the Spirit of God.

Paul reminds believers that although our bodies are still subject to death because of sin, the Spirit brings life because of righteousness. And because God’s Spirit lives within us, we have both the promise of resurrection and a new obligation—not to live according to the flesh, but to walk in the power of the Spirit.

This passage challenges us to examine what governs our lives and encourages us with the reality that the Spirit of God now dwells within every believer.
