God is Sovereign and We Are Responsible - Romans 9:1-5
In this episode we begin a new section of **Epistle to the Romans 9:1–5, where the Apostle Paul opens his heart with deep emotion and honesty. He expresses great sorrow and unceasing anguish over his fellow Israelites who have not embraced Christ.
So strong is Paul’s love for his people that he even speaks of a willingness to be cut off if it could mean their salvation. This reveals a powerful example of compassion and a heart that reflects God’s concern for those who are lost.
Paul then highlights the incredible privileges given to Israel—the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. Above all, it is through them that the Messiah came, Christ who is God over all, blessed forever.
This passage sets the stage for a deeper discussion about God’s sovereignty, His promises, and His faithfulness. It challenges believers to consider both the seriousness of rejecting the gospel and the importance of having a genuine burden for others to know Christ.
