There's No Turning Back Part 2
We’re about to complete our study of the book of Daniel here on Light on the Hill. It’s remarkable to consider that these words spoken by Daniel so very long ago are being fulfilled right before our eyes. All the more reason to really invest the time to understand bible prophecy.
Guest (Male): As we study the book of Daniel, we can clearly see we're close to the end. Light on the Hill is next.
Guest (Female): I have found. The peace only comes from you. I have found. The joy only comes from you. Cuz all I need is you.
Guest (Male): We're about to complete our study of the book of Daniel here on Light on the Hill. It's remarkable to consider that these words spoken by Daniel so very long ago are being fulfilled right before our eyes. It's all the more reason to really invest the time to understand Bible prophecy. Here to help us do so is Pastor James Kaddis.
James Kaddis: So it's interesting because look at what the Bible says is going to happen here in the future. And by the way, every single one of these verses, and believe me when I say this, I really thought about doing it, but probably not appropriate for a Sunday night context. Every single one of these verses that I'm reading, I could literally spend the next hour and a half discussing. Especially, especially verse 10, 11, 12, and 13. Especially these verses because they are so substantial and so significant, and there's so much to them. But for the sake of the time limitations that I have, and especially for the sake of trying to communicate the exhaustive amount of information that I'm trying to make concise, I have to skip past the temptation that I have to spend time tearing it all apart because it's very important.
But I want you to understand the bigger picture before we delve into the deeper side of all of this. Look at this at verse 10. Many shall be purified and made white and tried, but the wicked shall do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. We've already talked about the gist of what that means. Verse 11. And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away and the abomination that make a desolate set up, there shall be a 2,290 days. Okay, wait. We have a problem. There's a really big problem here.
Because now it's telling us that there is 1,290 days. When we just finished hearing throughout all of the scriptures, 1,260 days. So what do we do with that extra 30 days? That's a very difficult question for some people to ask and even more difficult for many people to answer. But the answer that I would give you is one that I believe is actually pretty simple. And history has actually taught us what that looks like. History has actually communicated to us what that looks like. Matter of fact, I have several different notes that I wrote down here that I thought were pretty important and consequential.
One, of course, is going to be in 2 Chronicles chapter 30. Let's go to 2 Chronicles chapter 30 for just a second. 2 Chronicles chapter 30. And as we go there, I want to read verses 2 through 4. By the way, this would be regarding Hezekiah in his time. And I'm going to go somewhere with this, believe me. 2 Chronicles chapter 30. We'll start in verse 2. It says, for the king had taken counsel and his princess and all the congregation uh in Jerusalem to keep the Passover in the second month, for they could not keep it at that time because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.
And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation. So you have to think about something here because there's there's something that's interesting. We talked a little bit about the timeline, okay? We talked about uh what happens when the beast does what he does. We talked about the beast being cast into the Lake of Fire, Revelation chapter 19. We talked about the false prophet also being cast into the Lake of Fire. That's in the same passage, Revelation 19:20. We find the binding of Satan that takes place in Revelation also uh chapter 20 later on. We learn about what we call the judgment of the Jews and the judgment of the Gentiles.
More on that to come by the way. There's a big difference between the two. The judgment of the Jews is a very specific judgment that takes place. The judgment of the Gentiles is what we call the sheep and the goat judgment, which is different than that of the judgment of the Jews. And we'll we'll get into that discussion in just a second. And then uh of course, there are other things that happened during that time period. But I wanted you to see this because I want you to know that in Chronicles, we actually have a record of the fact that the king chose to delay the celebration related to a major feast because the priests had not yet sanctified themselves correctly in order to do it.
And that's kind of an interesting thing to think about because it was critical to the Lord that things be set up correctly and God had actually blessed the decision that was made. When you go to the story of Antiochus and what happened with him, if you remember the Maccabean revolt and what actually took place when that whole situation happened, there was also a time period in which, and we read about this in the book of Maccabees, there was a time period involved in which the dedication of the temple had to take place. As a matter of fact, that is what we refer to as the feast of dedication that Jesus himself recognized and celebrated otherwise known as Hanukkah.
And if you think about Hanukkah, Hanukkah means in essence dedication. This was the feast of dedication. And of course, it took a little bit of time in order for the temple to be set up to bring forth or to restore the worship of God within the context of that temple. Now there's a couple of things that you should know about the millennial reign temple. And it's something that we talked about when we went through the book of Ezekiel. It's also something that we've talked about recently in Daniel. And uh uh actually we talked about it in Isaiah, we talked about it in Revelation.
But the Ezekiel temple, and if you remember we've talked about the the four different temples, right? Uh technically you could say there's five, but uh or or six if you want to call the tabernacle a temple. But the major temples that we talk about are the first one that was built under the reign of King Solomon, right? That temple of course was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar and then kind of re-erected basically uh during the time of Ezra and of course uh carried over into Herod's time that would have been referred to as of course the second temple.
And then of course that temple was destroyed by Titus in 78 AD. And that brings us to what we would call the third temple. Now the third temple is an interesting one because the third temple will be the temple that will be built for the Antichrist. Okay? So that's the temple that will be built for the Antichrist. Now the fourth temple, which is the temple that we read about during the millennial reign, will actually be a temple that will be bigger than all of the temples put together. If you look at the size of the fourth temple, you could take the third, the second, and the the what you would call the the first temple, put them all together, and that will be smaller in size than the fourth temple.
So if you ask me what those 30 days are for, I believe the 30 days would be used for not only the expansion of the existing temple to purify it and to consecrate it, but the actual act of purifying and consecrating it. I believe that there will be necessary 30 days in order for that to happen. Now that for some people is a very difficult process for people to be able to think through, but the reality of it is you need to have time in order for that to be able to happen. If you don't give it time for that to happen, how does it work?
Now I suppose that God could just snap his fingers, and I think that God could just simply say, oh yeah, here it is, there you go, and that interim period just be uh some kind of a uh uh you know uh uh an anomaly. But the reality of it is I think that God will at hyper speed restore that temple and bring it to the place where it needs to. But I think hyper speed is going to be 30 days after the second coming. I think that that's what that's going to involve. I think that that's what we're going to see uh happen.
I think it's going to take some time in order for the Lord to be able to prepare that time. So I think that's how you account for the extra 30 days. But if that was it, then all would be well. But that isn't it because now we have another time period that we have to explain. And this one, in my opinion, is also a relatively easy time period to explain because once you understand context and once you know what the Bible says concerning all of these things, then it begins to make sense. There's another date here that we have to look at because the other date can become very confusing as well.
Okay? So the first one I read was 1,290 days. Oh my goodness. Okay? But then look at this one. This one gets interesting. Okay? So from the time that the dailies, I'll read verse 11 one more time just so that we get it. And mark this in your mind, from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away and the abomination that make a desolate set up, there shall be 1,290 days. So 1,260, that's when the second coming takes place at the 1,260 day mark when that mark is actually known. No one's going to know the day or the hour.
And and then that's because you're not going to know when the true abomination that causes desolate actually takes place. But when Christ shows up, you'll know. 30 days from there, there's that one period. But then there's another period after that. It says in verse 12, blessed is he that waiteth and cometh to the 1,300 and 5 and 30 days. So 1,335 days. Now that doesn't make sense because now that's an extra 45 days that we haven't accounted for. And the question is, what do we do with the total of this extra 70 days? All we've known about or all lots of people know about, I've always known about these other 75 days.
It's not like it just popped up in my face. But all we've always known about is we've known about 1,260 days. What about the extra 75 days? Well the first 30 days I've explained what I believe is going to be involved in that. But I think that the next 45 days is going to involve a series of things that we know have to happen. And perhaps I think the most significant of those things will be the judgments that I had mentioned prior. Let's go really quickly to Matthew chapter 25. This is important, okay? And I want us to go there because there is some value in Matthew 25, especially for us to be able to understand what the Bible says.
Now for this context, I will start in verse 31. And this is important. So follow with me on this. And it says this in verse 31, and when the Son of Man shall come in his glory and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory. Throne of judgment, right? And before him shall be gathered all nations and he shall separate them one from another as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats. And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on his left.
Then shall the king say unto them on his right hand, come, you blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For what? Verse 35. For I was hungered and you gave me meat. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in. Naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and when you came unto me, then shall the righteous answer him saying, Lord, when saw we thee a hundred and fed thee or thirsty and gave thee drink?
When saw we the stranger and took thee in or naked or clothed in or when saw we sick in prison and came unto thee? And the king shall answer and say unto them, verily I say unto you, in as much as you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me. By the way, when he says to the least of these my brethren, he's not saying uh hey my brothers, so you've done this to the least of these. He's saying so you've done these to the least of my brethren.
Okay? Who is the king's brethren? The king's brethren happens to be Jews. Okay? So understand the context here. So many people will read Matthew chapter 25 and uh you'll hear these passages being quoted by the Pope, the Anley Stanleys of the world. You will even hear some people in the Calvary Chapel circle quote this. And they call Jesus the social gospel. They say it's oh we're called to feed the hungry and we're called to take care of the poor and we're called to go visit the people in prison. And they use this passage and they say that this passage deals with that.
When in reality it's good to feed the hungry. Of course it's good to take care of the poor. Of course it's good to take care of the widows and the fatherless. Of course it's it's it's good to give people to drink and to give them to eat. But the context here is how the Gentiles who are living during the time of the tribulation will treat the Jews. You will not be allowed to go into the actual time of the millennial reign unless as a Gentile, if you survived during the tribulation, you treated the Jews well.
That's the that is the division that's going on right now during this time, the judgment where Jesus will separate the sheep from the goat. That's the that 's the picture here. And the sheep from the goat judgment is in essence partially decided by how did you treat Israel? It's right here. The context is given to us. Jesus is talking about coming back in his glory. By the way, isn't it interesting how Jesus refers to him as the king executing judgment at that time? And that's when we begin to see him being uh spoken of as the king.
Isn't that interesting? See, when people are ignorant of the scriptures, then they refer to Jesus as being the king in this very moment and they x out the Jews altogether. And they say that Christians are the subjects of God's kingdom in context of what they read when Jesus calls himself king of the Jews and the Jews are really not a a people group that we should be paying attention to anymore. Problem is, it's a very broken understanding of what the scriptures say. So when we talk about the extra 45 days is going to be used for Christ to do all of this stuff that we're talking about.
He is going to be judging who enters into the millennial reign. He is going to be judging who walks into that into that position. By the way, it is interesting. I think it's ironic uh or not even ironic, but I think it is uh really interesting when it says in verse 34 that the king shall say unto them on his right hand, come, notice this, you blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. He says the blessed of my father, but look at how Daniel categorized this. Blessed is he, verse 12, that waiteth and cometh to the 1,305 and 30 days.
They refer to the same way, the blessed. Okay? The picture here that this is talking about is this is talking about those who were good to the Jews during the time when the Antichrist was going crazy and destroyed the earth and tried to destroy the lives of the Jews. This has everything to do with that. By the way, hate to disappoint all the social gospel people, but you've taken another passage out of context. And once again, this is not a passage that teaches you to open up your borders. As a matter of fact, God is for closed borders.
Make no mistake about that. That's really really critical. The Bible gives us that understanding. This picture is getting By the way, I 'm kind of on this kick right now because I'm hearing a lot of people misquote the the scripture, especially with the new Pope coming in and all the other craziness that's happening. I'm telling you that it's not biblical precedent. They are misquoting passages that deal with the time that we have not entered into yet to come to conclusions about a time that we sit in. And I think that that's a very important picture for all of us to be able to draw.
When you look at what's going on, when you look at the scriptures, when you see what the scriptures say concerning that moment, folks, it's a big deal. We see it. It's right in front of us that this is talking about that time. And we see it a lot, you know. A lot of people talk about this on a day-to-day basis. There are so many things about the end times that get taken out of context and they get taken out of context so much that when guys seek to tell the truth about what the context really is, um then they get beat up for doing it.
But the reality of it is if you know the scriptures and you teach it the way that you were uh uh designed by God to teach it, it completely opens up your eyes to see what's actually really being said. So for those that survive during the tribulation, which there won't be a lot of them, and those that don't take the mark of the beast, and those that actually those Gentiles that actually do the blessed thing in being uh in blessing the Jews, those people will actually be the ones that populate the earth during the thousand-year reign.
They'll be the ones that live during the thousand-year reign. They'll be the ones that'll be a part of it. But they're still not home free yet because we know that there will be another opportunity where the um where the devil himself is loosed from the pit. And when he's loosed from the pit, he'll just run around and absolutely go crazy. But I do think it is interesting because when you talk about that remaining 45-day period, I think 45 days is a lightning speed number to think about because that's when Jesus is going to set up the kingdom for all of us to rule with an iron fist.
That is when he is going to set up his administration as king over the earth. And when we are going to be given our assignments and all that stuff is going to happen, folks, let me just tell you something. That 45-day period is going to be one of the busiest periods of our eternity on many many levels because we are going to be involved in preparing everything for not only the administration of God's kingdom and his ruling, but we are also going to be on the tail end of the rebuilding of the temple, the one that has been consecrated, the one that has been set aside.
And yes, we have seen patterns like that emerge. Again, when you look at Chronicles and you look at the pattern being emerged there, another 30 days. When you look at the story of the Maccabean revolt, there's also other examples in the scriptures where time has been taken to consecrate things and God actually has not been displeased with that. The point behind it all is to understand the fact that God deals in time delays when it comes to consecrating things. If you were somebody that was deemed unclean because maybe you are a woman with blood or maybe somebody was sick because of some leprosy or something like that, there was a time period that you had to have that you had to stay away in order to be consecrated before you could enter back into society.
So all of these things are uh biblical. And the pattern that's set makes a whole lot of sense when you think it through. So if you wonder what that extra 30 days is or the extra 45 days on the tail end, my guess is that's that's very much what is going to happen. As a matter of fact, I think you could make a reasonable biblical argument as I think I have concerning these things. And they all begin to make lots of sense uh because when you look at it the way it was intended to be looked at, it's cohesive, right?
It makes a lot of sense when you put it together within that context.

Now to finish up our series in Daniel, here's Pastor James. So look at verse uh 12. I'll read that and then I'll just jump right into verse 13.
Blessed is he that waiteth and cometh to the 1,305 and 30 days. But go thou thy way till the end be, for thou shalt rest and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. It's interesting. He tells him, you know what, Daniel, you just be faithful. You share these things. You seal up the book. You're not going to know what the meanings of it are, but just understand that you will be blessed in that day. Like when the time comes, you will be one that's blessed. And I don't think Daniel had any idea about what he was contributing to the rest of the world in telling us what he told us.
I don't think Daniel had a clue about how much value he was going to bring to people uh into the ages in understanding and learning and discerning. And if there's one thing that the book of Daniel should teach us, if there's one thing that the book of Daniel should encourage us concerning, and that is to make a heavy investment in understanding Bible prophecy. Because the deeper you begin to understand Bible prophecy, the more aware you will become of all of the matters that surround you, especially as it relates to what God says is going to happen in the last days.
Your awareness of geopolitics becomes enhanced. Your understanding and your discernment concerning the many issues that surround what we could come to expect in the near future becomes enhanced. Your willfulness uh to uh seek the Lord will grow because you're being purified by what you know is actually coming. Your relationship with the Lord is strengthened because you develop a deeper awareness of what to expect as he continues to orchestrate all of these things in the future. All of this stuff is powerful. All of this stuff is critically important. And right now we find ourselves to be in a fork in the road.
And there's a big fork in the road. And the challenge that I want to give you is what direction are you going to take as you stand where the fork in the road is? Are you going to go to the side that chooses I will walk in wisdom or are you going to go to the side of the road that says I will walk in complete ignorance because I will choose what is comfortable, not challenging, and what seems to be convenient to my flesh. More than ever, we are presented with an opportunity to work harder than we've ever worked before, to dig deeper than we've ever dug, to open up our eyes to see things that human history has never seen before.
And in that we get to see a glimpse of God's glory in a way that no other human has seen it before prior to going to be with him. And I think that there's something to be said about a group of people who will dedicate themselves to understanding these things with clarity and discernment and understanding and to be able to know what exactly is coming and what's taking place. There is so much there. There is so much to be aware of and so much happening. And I think that uh it's going to be exciting to see where all of this culminates.
So with that, guys, dig dig dig, invest in these things, invest in Bible prophecy, develop a better understanding of it. It will change how you look at life today. It will change how you look at geopolitics. It will even change how you look at how people teach. And this is why I tell everybody all the time, if you go to a church and the pastor is not teaching Bible prophecy, run from the church because you're not going to grow in that church. Things are not going to be well because you have to be armed and equipped with what the Bible says is going to happen in the future, otherwise you won't be motivated to lift towards the future.
And I think that that's a very very important thing to understand and discern. Have you ever thought about this where people tell us that we're supposed to set goals, which I think is a good thing in some ways, and to set objectives? I tend to set more objectives than I set goals. That's just me, but I think there's different ideas on this. But it's interesting how we're told in essence, and I could be speaking in terms of semantics, how important it is to see the future, where you're going, and then start setting a path to move in that direction.
Well one of the things that I think is really interesting is the people that do that the best are the people that understand Bible prophecy. Because if they know what's going to happen in the future, they will live accordingly to accommodate that which they know they're pursuing. And they also will recognize that there's a certain sense of urgency in the time that they take advantage of knowing that their time uh is uh is very little, that there's not a lot left. What's next on Light on the Hill? Tomorrow Pastor James Kaddis will introduce his series in spirit and in truth.
