Judgement is Coming Soon Part 1
Many people today draw a picture of a non-confrontational Jesus that is unwilling to judge evil or call out sin. They think that being Christ-Like means being tolerant of evil. The day is coming when the whole world will see Christ in a completely different way! Today on Light on the Hill hear a powerful description of Christ coming back as judge.
Guest (Male): God's judgment is coming soon. Get prepared as you join us today for Light on the Hill.
James Kaddis: When God comes back, He will undoubtedly come back as judge. And when He comes back as judge, His judgment will be permanent. There will be a finality to that judgment that will be devastating to all who oppose Him.
And when it happens, people will be shocked because those who are going to be the recipients of that judgment will be dumbfounded by the fact that they chose to believe a lie, continued to believe a lie that was regarding the true and living God.
Guest (Male): Many people draw a picture of a non-confrontational Jesus that is unwilling to judge evil or call out sin. They think that being Christ-like means being tolerant of evil. Well, the day is coming when the whole world will see Christ in a completely different way.
Today on Light on the Hill, hear a powerful description of Christ coming back as judge. Here is Pastor James Kaddis in Revelation chapter 19.
James Kaddis: All right, Revelation chapter 19. A couple of things that I want to review with you because it is important. You must know the Old Testament if you're going to understand the Book of Revelation for a lot of different reasons.
And of course, what I'm hoping to be able to do as I teach through this book is to give you a lot of the relevant portions of the Old Testament. It's all relevant, but you know what I mean. The areas pertinent to the particular text that we're in to expand your education and your knowledge of the Word of God that you guys will be able to grow.
But there is some pretty important stuff that I need you guys paying attention to, especially as we get closer to the end of this book. There's a lot of very important information. And when we get into chapter 19, we are going to start at the verse that we ended with last week. But before we do, this is interesting because I'm only going to go over four new verses with you guys.
The reason why I'm going to do this is because these verses give us a very powerful and accurate description of the Christ that will be coming back as judge. I think it's really important to note that the God that is coming back as judge is not the God that lots of people are describing today.
One of the things that we continue to see is rapid deception that continues to exist within the minds and within the hearts of so many that choose to redefine the God of heaven because they would rather live their sinful lifestyle than they would actually tell the truth and repent and do that which is better for them.
Remember, doing things that are better for us is not necessarily the thing that feels the best, but eventually, it will pay off because when we do the right thing, the right thing always guards us, takes care of us, and watches over us because the encapsulation of all that is right is founded in the Word of God.
We know that God honors people who obey Him. He honors people who listen to Him. So, the picture of the God that we see being given to us by this movement is one that is very broken. They say ridiculous things like love is love, which love is not love.
God is love, and if God is love, then that means His Word is the embodiment of all that love is, and our obedience to His Word is, in essence, the encapsulation of all that love requires. If we choose to obey His Word, then we will live according to the precepts of His Word.
If we live according to the precepts of His Word, we will not be living the lifestyles that are constantly being lived in the day and the time that we're living in right now. The reality of it is, if you believe that God is a loving God, then you will also believe that in His love, He creates for us the type of boundaries and the type of wise constraints that keep us from destroying ourselves.
So, when He condemns a lifestyle, when He condemns an action, when He condemns a series of things that are done, we best pay heed to it. We best pay attention to it and we best live according to what God has said because the judge that is coming is nothing like the person that these evil people are projecting Him to be.
The God that they're projecting is a God that accepts everything and welcomes everybody and welcomes everything. That's just not the case. As a matter of fact, there is a condition that is predicated upon the salvation that we receive, and the condition is acceptance of that which He's made available to us.
If we accept that which has been made available to us, then that means the acceptance of that which has been made available to us brings us a new way of living because the Holy Spirit now takes residency in our hearts, and if He takes residency in our hearts, He will control the way that we live.
So, we'll think differently about these things. We'll act differently, we'll walk differently, we'll function differently. The Spirit of God living inside of a person drives that person to repentance, drives that person to live a different lifestyle and to think differently about the things that they do and the things that they say and the things that they are because their new identity is in Christ.
If your new identity is in Christ, then you are ruled by righteousness. You are walking through the lens of purity, and you continue to function with the mindset that continues to say I will be submitted and yielded to the Word of God because the Word of God gives me everything that is necessary to live and walk the way that God has called me to.
It's that simple. When we walk according to His standard, we change. When we walk according to His precepts, we grow. When we do the things that He asks us to do, we become the recipients of His protection.
We become the recipients of His blessing. We become the recipients of all the endowments that come from being one who's been adopted by Him to experience all the blessings and the benefits that come thereafter.
When you try to redefine God, when you try to rewrite history, when you try to make God somebody that He's not, all you do is reap damnation on yourself. All you do is you bring yourself to a place where you will not experience the conditions or the benefits that are not given or the benefits that you think you can get by not meeting the conditions that He sets forth. It's really simple.
You will not experience the protection of God if you choose not to do things God's way. It's really simple. When you choose to come against God, it is the ultimate form of mess around and find out. It is the ultimate form of choosing to try something and realizing that in you trying something, you actually learn the hard way.
I can't imagine what Raisi is thinking right now. I can't imagine what Abdollahian is thinking right now when that plane crashed. They're facing the God of heaven, the real God. They're not facing Allah. They're facing the God of heaven.
And when they heard the words, "Go to hell, I never knew you," can you imagine what kind of thought was going through their mind? You know where they're at right now? They're screaming in eternal pain. They're screaming in eternal suffering because they thought somehow, some way, that their god, Allah, their false god, was going to give them all kinds of things that they were hoping to be able to have.
By the way, isn't it interesting how this deceptive god, this god Allah, makes a promise to its people that if you take other people's life while taking your own, then you will get 72 virgins, which is, in essence, the exact opposite of what the Quran tells you how to live?
Isn't that funny how that works? You'll get the very thing you're not allowed to do on this earth. Talk about the deception, but that is what's going on. Their picture of God is twisted because they have strayed away from the Word of God in defining who that God is.
We see it happening during Pride Month. We see all these ugly and disgusting pictures, these distorted characteristics that are being made. But here's the thing. When God comes back, He will undoubtedly come back as judge.
They believed the despicable lie that was being communicated.
So, let's jump into verse 10 of Revelation chapter 19. Now, we read this last week, but it says this: "And I fell at his feet to worship him, and he said unto me, 'See thou do it not. I am thy fellow servant and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.'"
Notice this: "For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." Now, I want to stop for one moment and just talk about this for a second. The first part of this verse is very obvious. John gets inundated by all the information that he's seeing.
He's very overwhelmed by every moment that he's experiencing, and so in the moment of being overwhelmed, what does he do? He worships the angel. The angel says, "Uh-uh, don't you do that. You worship the true and living God. You worship Jesus. I'm not one to be worshiped. I stand here with you doing the same purpose, providing the same message, seeking out to be a messenger to that which I'm actually seeing."
He says you need to worship the true and living God. He talks about this being about Jesus. But then notice what he says at the end of this verse, and it's a really important one. He says, "For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
There was a very large radio station—it used to be super large, it's not large anymore—here in Southern California that was a Christian radio station. And there was a show on that Christian radio station that was pretty popular. And the show centered around answering biblical questions.
And so I was listening to the show a while ago. I probably heard this probably the last time I ever listened to the show because of the nonsense that was coming out of it. But I listened to the show with the guy who's answering the questions now on the show, and he got asked this question about eschatological issues.
The question had something to do with the rapture, and he basically was not decided on his view concerning those issues, which, by the way, you have no business being on a show that answers questions like that if you don't know what the view actually is.
And quite frankly, on the radio station that it was on, you have no business actually being on that show if you don't have real clarity in this area and you don't know the truth about what's going on in the end times. So, he goes on and on, giving all kinds of weird views.
Oh, this guy believes this and this guy believes this, and I read this guy that I really like and he kind of believes this. And some people believe it's post-trib, and some people believe it's pre-trib, and some people talk about the rapture not even existing, and I'm kind of, I don't know.
And he's going on and on, and running his mouth, and he's telling things that are just absolutely ridiculous and completely uninformed. And then, besides that, he makes a recommendation of a guy that he looks up to, to give them direction on this, who, by the way, is a full-blown false prophet, hardcore heretic, which makes this guy the same thing, right?
And at the very end of him going through his big tirade of foolishness and indecisiveness and complete lostness, he says this. He says, "I want to add that in the days of the apostles, after Jesus had resurrected, that there really wasn't an emphasis on Bible prophecy.
Nobody was really thinking about that or talking about that. As a matter of fact, the only thing on their hearts, the only thing that was a priority to them, was preaching Christ and Him resurrected." And I think about this for a minute, and I think I hope everybody listening to him understands the fact that they are listening to one of the biggest lies probably ever told on this radio station.
I hope they recognize how full of garbage this guy is, what an absolute lie he's telling the whole world. It is completely—well, it's not the really whole world, there's probably 10 people listening to it at that point, but you guys get the idea. The lie that's being communicated there. Let me explain something to you. Prophecy was at the core of everything that these guys were talking about.
Their whole goal was Christ and Him crucified and resurrected, and they talked about it again and again and again and again. John, who is, by the way, one of the greatest tools used by God to bring the gospel, an overwhelming majority of John's writings centered around the subject of Bible prophecy, whether it related to the first coming or the second coming.
You have to literally throw away the Book of Revelation. He actually said this. He says, "Well, there was a big stint in between the time that Christ ascended, sometime in around 30-something AD, all the way into around 90 AD when John wrote the Book of Revelation. That was the only time that prophecy was ever mentioned."
It's like, no, you are clueless. You have no idea. Every single New Testament author referred to prophetic events on a regular basis in their writings, whether it be prophecies related to the first coming of Christ or prophecies related to the second coming of Christ.
There is not a single book in the New Testament that you will not find some type of reference that relates to something that is prophetic. And people that teach otherwise are people that are completely lost. Quite frankly, I think he made that nonsense up because if you think about it, if you are all about preaching the gospel—listen to me, guys, and listen to me good—if you are all about preaching the gospel, you have to ask yourself, what is the gospel?
The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ. The good news of Jesus Christ is what? The testimony of Jesus Christ. And what is the testimony of Jesus Christ? The testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy. It's the very thing that drives Bible prophecy.
When we go over the subject of Bible prophecy, it all centers around Christ. And I try to say this all the time. Christ could come at any moment. Jesus is coming soon. I have no problem saying both those phrases because both those phrases are predicated upon biblical values.
And if you choose to say, oh, we're going to put off this discussion, you are choosing to deny a portion of the gospel of Jesus Christ. You are choosing to say that you want to carry an incomplete picture of who Christ is, and you choose to de-emphasize perhaps what might be the most important part of the message. And that is the things to come.
Think about it like this, folks, and I think it's really, really important. Think about all of the prophecies that centered around the first coming of Jesus Christ. Do you know that there's nobody, even the crazy atheists that believe there is no God, still—which, by the way, I always think it's funny.
The atheists that believe there is no God spend a lot of time, energy, and effort being angry at the God that they say doesn't exist. Isn't that really funny? I just think it's a hilarious crack-up. I just think it's one of the most entertaining things to watch. It's just funny to me. They spend so much time discrediting God.
In my opinion, it's like, why are you discrediting God? You say He doesn't exist. Why is that even a conversation? If I go to you right now and I say the boogeyman doesn't exist, why would I go over a whole bunch of evidence as to why the boogeyman is a bad guy?
He either exists or he doesn't. If he doesn't exist, shut your mouth. But you want to go out of your way to talk about, oh, well, God doesn't exist, and if He was such a just God, then why would He do this or why would He do that? You are not ignorant, you're ignorant. You get it?
Like you choose to allow yourself to become the kind of fool that you are. If you don't believe that He exists, don't even talk about Him. But you have to talk about Him. You want to know why? Because the God of heaven created the very person that you are.
He breathed into you a living soul. You understand that? You were made in His likeness and image, which is why you have this vacuum inside of you that will always exist unless you choose to worship and believe in the true and living God that you seek to deny. But that's the kind of thing that's going on.
Look at this, guys. Even the atheists agree that Jesus was a real person. Even the atheists will agree that He came under certain circumstances. And the thing that's really funny is if you look at all of the prophecies that the old-time prophets gave, all of the prophecies that they gave concerning the first coming of Jesus Christ, they were all dead-on.
Every single one of them were correct. There was nothing inconsistent about the prophecies that came forth. Listen, guys, you can look at one of the prophecies of the minor prophets who will tell you right now, Jesus would be riding into the city of Jerusalem on a donkey, and He did.
You could go to another prophet. You could go to the prophet in the Book of Daniel, and it will tell you the very day, literally the very day, that He rode into the city. You can do the calculation, you can do the math.
From the proclamation to restore and rebuild the city. That proclamation happened on March 14, 445 BC. He talked about the 69 weeks. You do the math on the 69 weeks. It's 173,880 days. If you start on March 14, 445 BC and you count 173,880 days, that takes you to March 29, 33 AD, which would be the very day that Jesus rode into the city.
We have it historically documented. But people don't believe it. They say that that can't be right. Listen, the likelihood—look, if any of you know statistics or you've studied statistics, first of all, it's a pain in the rear to study. It's not an easy subject.
You think it would be really—how hard is it? It's hard. It's not an easy subject. But if you know anything about statistics, when you start looking at the math, which the math has been done on the idea that even one of these Old Testament prophecies could be correct—I don't remember what the exact number was.
I think it was like 1 times 10 to the 25th, I think is what it was, that one of them could actually be correct as accurately as it was. I mean, think about the crazy, insane numbers. If statistically it is literally an impossibility, yet it happened.
Now everybody agrees—everybody, including the anti-Bible prophecy people—will agree that the Old Testament prophets got it right concerning the first coming of Jesus Christ. So here's my question. I think this is predicated upon an intelligent approach. I think it is.
If they were dead-on about the first coming of Jesus Christ, don't you think they'll be dead-on about the second coming? It was the same prophets that spoke about the second coming. So if they're right about the first, don't you think they'll be right about the second?
Listen, your understanding of the gospel becomes incomplete if you do not build a better understanding of the message of the gospel through the word of prophecy that we're given every day. By the way, isn't it interesting that the same people who discount the message of Bible prophecy are the same people who actually have given themselves to the message of social justice?
Isn't it funny how they're the same people that have been giving in to the lies? Do you know that same guy, by the way, on the radio show who gave that answer, who said exactly what he said, actually was in another state?
He went to go start a church in the other state, and the reason why he says he has not started a church service is because his team of people are white people and he needs a few black people to be able to start the church service. Since when did that matter? Since when?
But because you do not understand the full counsel of God and because you do not understand the testimony of Christ, you are literally building a foundation that is based on wickedness and ungodliness and the secular humanistic philosophies of this world that drive you to a destructive pattern of continuing to believe a lie.
That's exactly what this is. I don't know when we're going to come to a better understanding, guys, of what is actually happening in this world and what we're seeing. It's darkness, and I want people to see it for what it is.
So, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Look at this in verse 11: "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war."
Okay, so there's a massive conflation that takes place between the white horse that we read about in Revelation 19 and the rider of the white horse that we read about in Revelation chapter 6. By the way, just so that you know—I want to make myself very clear—the rider of the white horse in Revelation chapter 6 is not the rider of the white horse in Revelation chapter 19.
There are some distinct differences between them. The rider of the white horse in Revelation chapter 6 has one crown; the rider of the white horse in Revelation chapter 19 has multiple crowns.
The rider of the white horse in Revelation chapter 6 has a bow but not an arrow, and his main function is to create a premise of peace that is temporarily solved. And the rider of the white horse in Revelation chapter 19 not only has a multiple amount of crowns on his head, he does not have a bow or an arrow; he has a sword that comes out of his mouth.
There's a distinct difference between them. The rider of the white horse has nobody accompanying him in Revelation chapter 6; the rider of the white horse that we read about in this chapter has an accompaniment of a whole army of people, all riding white horses, wearing a specific type of clothing. Guess what? We're that army.
Just so you know, this is kind of exciting stuff when you think about it. There's a big difference. Now some of you might say, "Okay, James, well, they're different, then who is the rider of the white horse in Revelation 6 and who is the rider of the white horse in Revelation 19?"
Well, the one in 19 is obvious, just as the one in 6 is obvious. The one in Revelation 19, that rider of the white horse, is none other than Jesus Christ Himself. The rider of the white horse that we read about in Revelation chapter 6, you know who that is? The Antichrist. That's who it is. It's the Antichrist.
And I want to make sure everybody understands that. There's a big difference between the two of them. One is the true and living God; one is one who seeks to replace the true and living God. They're completely different. Revelation 6, the bad guy; Revelation 19, the good guy. I'm going to make myself clear.
But look at the descriptors that come with this rider of the white horse. He that sat upon him was called what? Faithful and True. So we're not just talking about consistent and we're not just talking about predictable; we're talking about a consistency and a predictability that is founded on the premise of truth.
I can tell you this right now. The God that we serve is always going to tell us the truth because He Himself is the embodiment and the full encapsulation of that which is true. We understand that if the truth is actually Him because He Himself is the Word of God, then we know for a fact that He cannot deny Himself.
We know for a fact that if He honors His Word above His name, He will not—He will not go back on His Word. So the Bible tells us that He is faithful and that He's true. He's consistent, He never changes, and the faithfulness that we see being projected and emanated from His persona is exactly a truthful projection.
He's never going to go away from it. He's consistent, He's faithful, and He's true.
