A Troubling Dream Part 1

What’s the solution to the mess we find ourselves in? Is it marching in the streets, or burning down buildings, or found in the people we’ve just elected into office? Actually no! The answer is Jesus Christ. King Nebuchadnezzer needed to learn that lesson, and perhaps you do too? Today we open Daniel chapter two. If you’ll recall Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, which Daniel is now interpreting. We want to focus today on the fourth kingdom in this dream, described as iron mixed with clay. It has ten toes! Pastor James Kaddis believes this is speaking of a Revived Roman Empire that will assemble at the time of the end. They’ll hand the reigns over to the final antichrist! As you carefully examine current events, you can see all of this coming together in an amazing way!

As we get back into Daniel chapter two, remember King Nebuchadnezzar has just had a disturbing dream. And he’s wondering what it all means! Daniel is about to come along with the interpretation, and in so doing reveals a general timeline for all of history, near and far! Including a revived Roman empire that will consist of 10 nations!

We’ve all had nightmares, and some of them were so terrifying that even after we wake up we still question whether or not it was real. Today on Light on the Hill we’ll see how God got a King’s attention through his sleep, and in doing so revealed world history.

When we’re hurt deeply by the words or actions of another, we have a choice to make. We can turn bitter and angry, and many do! Or we can be like Daniel, and stay focused on the Lord, refusing to compromise! Today on Light on the Hill, we spotlight Daniel chapter one, and verses 9-21. As a young man Daniel was stripped from his own home and family, but refused to be bitter about it. Pastor James Kaddis has noticed a few things in this response to adversity!

I’m told a rattlesnake, if cornered, will sometimes become so angry it will bite itself. And isn’t that just so reminiscent of mankind? When wronged, some will turn bitter and angry. In essence, hurting themselves! Today on Light on the Hill pastor James opens Daniel chapter one, and shows us how to break free of bitterness, with eyes fixed on Jesus.

And we’ll notice Daniel settled in his heart that he wasn't going to allow anything to get in the way of God's purpose for him. Daniel was a Christian young man who took a stand for God, and determined not to be defiled, under intense pressure to say the least. In addition to being a man of commitment, he was also in the Word and in prayer on a regular basis. Pastor James Kaddis believes that’s the sort of people we’re to be in these last days. Today on Light on the Hill we begin our verse by verse study of Daniel and notice that Daniel faced his fair share of adversity. But he didn’t become bitter as a result.
