Bishop Femi Owoyemi: Bless the offering for Your glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. There is mystery involved in giving, and it comes by the enlargement of heart. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. We brought nothing into this world, and we're taking nothing away. But when we are generous like our Father, we'll never be in want. Amen. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

I pray that many here will not confine themselves to tithes anymore. That you will give beyond tithing. Tithing is for the babies. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. I'm serious. That's to train you. But when someone is trained, then he begins to operate. Glory be to God. Amen. That you may become a mystery to yourself. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen.

We bless the Lord God Almighty for all those wonderful testimonies. Our God is good all the time. And we are seeing His faithfulness. We're seeing His kindness. I was reading a book that was written by a man that passed in, I think, 1932 or something like that. And I was pleasantly blessed because many of the things we're saying here I saw in that book. It's not to say anything other than to be grateful to God that we're in line. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.

You know, when Apostle Paul was teaching, at the time, he decided to go to Jerusalem to the apostles to tender his doctrine, to find out if he was speaking the truth or not. And he was blessed when they gave him, according to him, a right hand of fellowship. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. We are blessed in this place. I want to encourage you more and more to open your hearts to the truth.

The truth cannot be manifested until it is part of our lives. If we compartmentalize the word and we don't incorporate it into our lives, we won't see the result of the truth. We have to incorporate it. We have to live by what we know. We have to believe what we know. We have to lay hold of what we know. We have to live by it. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. It's so important. If we don't live by it, we're wasting our time.

In James chapter one, I believe from verse 20, James chapter one from verse 20. He's speaking about what we do with the word. Go to verse 21. Glory be to God. Amen. It began by saying, "Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word." The word is not effective until it is implanted. Implanted means it's planted within. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen.

The Bible says that there was a man that goes about with seeds, and then he scattered the seeds. Some fell on the wayside. It profited nothing because the bird of the air, they came, they took it up. Amen. Others fell on stony ground. Not much soil. It grew up quickly, but because there was no depth of soil, it withered. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Others fell among thorns. And it was growing, thorns choked it, and it couldn't bring forth. But others fell on good soil. And then they bring forth thirtyfold, sixtyfold, and a hundredfold.

The good soil is the heart in which the word is implanted. Because in that scripture, when the Lord Jesus Christ was interpreting, He said, "The seed is the word of God." The seed is the word of God. As the seed is sown in the soil, the word of God must be sown in our heart. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. If we want it to bring forth. All the testimonies I give, I don't give those testimonies to just show off. I give the testimonies to illustrate so that we can learn. Praise the Lord. And every testimony, you can lay hold of it and apply it. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

Because this is the time that the Lord has told us it is time of refreshing. The Lord has been speaking. The Lord has been training us over the years. It is time for manifestation. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. It is time for your manifestation. It is time for my manifestation. Amen. You have to decide that you must manifest now. You have to decide that you must manifest the glory of God. You have to decide that you will not be ordinary. You have to decide that you are not going to be going through life as life as usual. You have to decide that things must be different. You have to decide that things must change. If you do that, the Lord will work with you because this is the time. Amen. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen.

The Lord Jesus Christ, the word of God, came concerning Him in the book of Luke chapter one. And the word said to Mary that she is blessed, she is favored among women because she's going to bring forth a child. Amen. This woman said, "How shall this be, since I know not a man?" He said, "The Holy Spirit shall come upon you. The power of the Most High will overshadow you. That that which is to be born of you shall be called the Son of God." Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.

The Lord Jesus Christ was born of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit will come upon you. Amen. The power of the Most High will overshadow you. That that which is to be born of you shall be called the Son of God. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. When the Holy Spirit overshadows you, you will reproduce the Son of God. You will reproduce the image of Christ. Your life will be Christ-like. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Wherever you go, they will see Jesus Christ.

That is the proof that you have been born of the Spirit. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, but that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit. Glory be to God. Until you step out of the flesh, you cannot manifest anything of God. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. So, this is the beginning. And that is synonymous with the Fruit of the Holy Spirit in you. Being born of the Spirit is synonymous with the Fruit of the Holy Spirit in you. The reproduction of Jesus in you. That's the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Galatians chapter five verse 22. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen.

If you know what we are talking about regarding the faith that we are talking about, you will not play games. This is not about games. This is reality. And everything you're doing, every moment of your life, you're choosing one reality or the other. You're choosing eternity with God, or you're choosing hell. Yes. It's all by choice. Glory be to God. And this choice is governed by your desire. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. And desire is the principal thing. That is what drives every human being. That is what drives the devils.

Satan, from the beginning, was driven by his desire. Isaiah chapter 14. He said he wants to be like God. That was his desire. And it drove him to a dead end. Glory be to the name of the Lord. That is why James chapter one warned us, amen, that when a person is tempted, he should not say that he is tempted of God. Please put it up. James chapter one. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. When a person is tempted. Let's go back to 13. "Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone." Then look at this verse, verse 14. "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by what?" His own desire. It is desire that drives life. And it is desire that will determine where we end. Praise the Lord.

The Lord Jesus Christ said in John chapter four verse 34, he said, "My food is to do the will of the one who has sent me." That was his desire. Glory be to God. Philippians chapter three, Apostle Paul said that "That I may know Him," glory be to God, "and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering." Glory be to God. That was his desire. What is your desire? Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen.

Desire is what is driving our lives. Desire is so powerful. We're going to talk more about that as God gives us grace. Desire. Everything you're in pursuit of is desire. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. The woman was in the garden all along with the fruit. But when the devil came, praise the Lord, she suddenly saw that the fruit was good for food, was pleasant to the eyes, and is good for gaining knowledge. She had been in that garden with that tree, with those fruits since the beginning. But all of a sudden, desire arose for that thing. And we know where it ended. It's desire. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

Nobody can force the things of God on anyone. If you don't desire it, that's it. The pastor cannot force it. Even God cannot force it. You have to desire it. Amen. Do you desire God? Do you desire the refreshing? Do you desire His power? Do you desire His glory? These are the questions you must ask yourself and answer. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.

We have to receive the implanted word. Go back to James 1:21. We have to receive with meekness. Yes. We have to receive with meekness the implanted word. And what is the reason why we have to receive it in our heart? Because it will save our souls. What does it mean it will save our souls? It will shape your desires. Amen. It will shape your desires. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen. When your desires are rightly shaped, your soul is saved.

It's not that your soul is not saved when you gave your life to Jesus. But your soul is saved from evil. Amen. It's saved from sin. It's saved from wrongdoing. And it places you on the highway of the Lord. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen. We cannot joke with the word. We don't have anything but the word of God. It's the word of God that saves us. It's the word of God that will keep us. Amen. It's the word of God that will guide us. It's the word of God that will deliver all the blessings of God into our lives.

Nobody will have any blessing in this world without the word of God. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. What you see around you call blessing, that's what you see in the natural. When you understand blessing spiritually, you know that that's not it. Glory be to God. What's the essence of having this whole world and then losing everything? But when people have the whole world, they think they're blessed. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

You have nothing to do with the devil. You have no coalition with the devil. You have no relationship with the devil. If you put your hand in the hand of the devil, if you work in the camp of the devil, you're going to destroy yourself eternally. Because Jesus Christ is the Almighty. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. He said, "I will build my church, and the gates of Hades cannot prevail against it." If you know and you truly know, you will walk in the truth. Amen. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.

He is the consuming fire. And He will destroy all who come against Him. Amen. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. There is no power that can withstand our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says that God has spoken once, twice have I heard, all powers belong to God. It is arrogant for anyone to say he wants to represent the devil before God. The Bible says that the wicked shall perish at the presence of God. Yes. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.

This devil was thrown out from heaven. If he had the power, why is it that he was thrown down? Glory be to God. You weaken yourself when you follow the devil because you jettison the power that God has given you. You put that aside. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given unto me. Therefore go." Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. You have the power of God in you by the Spirit of God. Why would you be toying with the power of the devil? What can you achieve by that? You will only destroy yourself. Glory be to God. Repent! Glory be to God. Repent and God is gracious. He will save you. If you don't repent, you will be destroyed. There is no middle way. Praise the Lord.

The Bible says, I saw in scripture, He said, "Who has opposed God and prosper?" Nobody. It said, "There is no wisdom, there is no insight, there is no counsel against God." It doesn't matter how wise you are. You become a fool before Him. He makes the wisdom of this world foolishness according to 1 Corinthians chapter one. Glory be to God. He said, "Where is the wise? Where is the scribe of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?" Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.

So receive the implanted word, amen, which is able to save your soul. Amen. Go forward in that scripture. We must not be hearers of the word only. Many are hearing the word. Amen. Amen. They say, "Oh wow, what a revelation!" But that's what where it stands. What is the use of the revelation that is not manifested in our lives? Revelation is given to us that we may walk in it. Amen. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Revelation is given to us that we may walk in it. And it is in walking in it that we can demonstrate God. Amen. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. It is in walking in it that we can manifest His glory. It is in walking in it that we can take possession. Amen.

You remember I told you, how can you take possession when you have not yet taken possession of your own life? If your life is still under the control and manipulation of the devil, how can you take possession of territories? You cannot. So it begins with you. Lay hold of that which God has laid hold of you. There is something for which God has laid hold of you. You lay hold of that first. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

This world is deceptive. In this place now, I think I can say I'm probably the oldest. Can I say that? Yes. How many people, who is 75 years here? Okay. So I can speak to you based on the fact that I'm older than any of you, right? Yes, sir. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. There is something in age. There is something in age. And that is experience. That experience includes good and bad. So when you have bad experiences and you're an older person, you'll be telling, "No, no, no, don't go that way. It can't go right." And the younger one will say, "What's he talking about? He doesn't know anything. It's going to work." And he said, "No, no, no, no, no, no." They won't listen. And then later, "Ah, he told me." Yes, that is experience, that's age because he has been through it. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen.

I have been in voodoo. I was in herbalism. I was going to, I don't even know how many people I went to. I know the place is a forest. God has brought me on the highway. I'm saying, why will you go into the forest from the highway? Does that make sense? It doesn't. There is no power there. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. It's not to benefit you. It's destructive power. It's only the power of God that will build you up. It's only the power of God that will raise you up. It's only the power of God that will liberate you. Amen. Glory be to the name of the Lord. It's only the power of God that can make you to stand. Amen. Amen.

Because you stand in Him. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "You in me, and I in God." First of all, He said, "I in God, you in me, and I in you." Think of it. He is in God. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Then you are in Him. Amen. Amen. So you are in Him, He is in God. Where is a safer place to be? Amen. There is no safer place. Then He said, "I in you." You are in Him, and He is in you by the Spirit of God. Hallelujah. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.

This is why He also said that what happened to Him must happen to us. He said we must be born of the Spirit. If you are not born again and you are in the church, you're wasting your time. You can pastor without being a born again believer. You'll still be wasting your time. You can speak the doctrines, but it doesn't make you born again. You have to be born again. To be born again is to be born of the Spirit. That was how Jesus was born. He was born of the Spirit. We start being like Him from the moment we are born of the Spirit. Being born again is being born of the Spirit. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. Amen.

You are renewed in your inner man. Amen. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. The Spirit of God that left man in the garden of Eden comes back to you. That is to be born again. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Now you have a means of communication with the Almighty God. He can speak to you. Look at the testimony she gave. "I was, you know, God has been separating me from a few things and then I've been having fellowship." When we are talking like that to an unbeliever, they say they are out of their mind, look at what they are saying. But that is true. When you are born of God, by the Spirit of God, you have fellowship. He talks to you. You talk to Him. In the week, He told me, "You have no entitlement. It's all by grace." Hallelujah. Amen.

Yes. I hope somebody is listening. Yes, yes! You have no entitlement. It's all by grace. So many of you, if you think God owes you something, He doesn't owe you anything. At all! Clearly, He said to me, "You have no entitlement. It's all by grace." When you look at it and think of it, you know it is true. Yes. Where is your entitlement? When you go before Him and say, "Father, do it now, do it." It's grace. It's because He has given you grace. He said, "Come boldly unto the throne of grace to obtain mercy." When you come to the throne of grace, it is mercy that you will receive. Yes. If you're so, if you're, if you're so qualified, why mercy? Hmm? Do you need mercy for what you are qualified for? No. No. Amen.

Do you beg your employer to give you your paycheck on the weekend? No. You are entitled to it. If you don't see it, you march boldly to human resources, HR. Say, "What's happening here? Where is my pay? Where is my check?" Glory be to God! Aha. But if you don't work, and they say they want to give you something, you get there and say, "Ah, they told me to come, that you have something for me. I'm here for it." Praise God. Hallelujah. If they say it's not ready, what do you, you say, "Okay, when do I come back?" These things are different. Yes, sir.

We need to understand this. When He told me, I realized, ah, it means that the only way I should live with God is gratitude. Hallelujah. That's what it proves. If I have no entitlement and everything is by grace, then every day, everything, in everything, I must just be grateful at all times. That's all. Everything, thank You, Lord. I wake up, thank You, Lord. He gives me something, thank You, Lord. I pray and I don't receive an answer yet, I don't grumble. I don't grumble. Yes. Because no entitlement. We are filled with entitlement mentality in this generation. And it's ruining so many things. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

So what the word says to us is we must be doers of the word of God. Hmm. We have permitted secularism to take over our lives. This is the tragedy of the church. We have permitted secularity to take over our lives. The views of the world have taken over our lives. And that has kept us spiritually weak. As spiritual weakness, we are not manifesting as we ought to manifest. The Lord is here to wake us up. Amen. This time we will wake up in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

If we wake up, He said one of you will chase a thousand. Yes. That's it! If we wake up, one of you will chase a thousand. Five of you will chase ten thousand. If we wake up. When we don't wake up, even if we were fifty thousand, we would think we can't accomplish anything because we are not awake. Glory be to God. The refreshing is here to wake us up. Amen. To turn our minds in the right way. Everything in this life is spiritual. It is not natural. But the secular life has confined us to what is natural. Natural way, natural things, natural. We don't see, we're not able to see what God is doing. We're not able to have a picture of what is in His mind. Even when He's working, we are blaming Him. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

But when we begin to look with spiritual eyes, we will see different. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen. We'll be able to see our Father and know that even in the things that the world is saying there is nothing there, we will see that there must be something there if He brings us there. If God brings you to a place, there must be something there. Yes. If God brings you to a place, there must be something there. Yes. Unless you choose the place yourself. Hmm. If He's the one that takes you to a place, there is something there. You may not see it, but you have to believe something is here. I don't see it yet, but something is here. Open my eyes that I may see. Hallelujah. Amen.

When you don't see, if you are not spiritual, the natural sense kicks in. And then you get the enemy to manipulate you. "You see, you have come now. I told you not to come. There is nothing here for you." And you start packing your things and you go away, not knowing that the treasure is there. You will not go away from your treasure. Amen. You will not go away from your blessings. Amen. In the name of Jesus Christ. Pride, anger are things we should walk against. We lose so much when we're angry. We lose so much when we are not humble. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

We must be doers of the word. We must be doers of the word. We must be doers of the word. This Bible that God gave to us is not just a book. This is the book of life. How to run life here on earth. That is this book. It will affect nations. It will affect communities. It will affect families. It will affect individual person. Any individual that turns away from the word of God will see that the life does not work. Any community that turns away from the word of God will see that it does not work. Any nation that turns away from the word of God will know that it does not work.

What we see all over the world today is not a mystery. You can look at the word of God and say, "Ah, no wonder." It will be plain. It will be clear. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Every nation in idolatry will come under the judgment of God. Any nation kicking against the church will come under the judgment of God. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. You may see them now. The place may be flourishing with oil. It may be flourishing with all kinds of riches. But because they are touching the church, they will go under. Amen. That's what happens in the Bible, and that's what will happen. Oh yes. The Bible is given to us so that we may know the end from the beginning. Oh yes. You just look at the behaviors of people, you know where they are going. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

But now let me tell you something that even though we are born of the Spirit of God, it doesn't stop there. It doesn't stop there. You are born again. Good. It's wonderful. You are born of the Spirit. Yes. The Spirit is within you. That's good. Amen. Let's look at John chapter 20. John chapter 20, let's see verse 21. So it started like this. Said, "So Jesus said to them again, 'Peace to you.'" Amen. Amen.

When you are born of the Spirit, you must have peace. Amen. Amen. If you don't have peace within you, check. Maybe you are not born again yet. Praise the Lord. I'm just saying. This is how you check. This is how you know. Amen. Amen. "Peace to you! As the Father has sent me, I also send you." "As the Father has sent me, I also send you." Now, we'll come back to this place. Let's go to Matthew chapter three. How did the Father send Him? Let's go to Matthew chapter three. I think we can look from verse 22. How did the Father send Him? Matthew chapter three. You can't get Matthew? There is no Matthew chapter three? Verse 22? Ah, maybe your Bible is not complete. Matthew chapter three. Okay. Eh? Matthew three? It ends in 17? Ah, maybe I'm writing, God forgive me. Okay. Matthew chapter three. Let me see quickly.

Okay, let's start from verse 13. Okay. "Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him." Next verse. "And John tried to prevent Him, saying, 'I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?'" Next verse. "But Jesus answered and said to him, 'Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.' Then he allowed Him." When He had been baptized. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. When He had been baptized.

Let's go back two verses, verse 14. "And John tried to prevent Him, saying, 'I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?'" Verse 15. "But Jesus answered and said to him, 'Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.'" What does that signify, this conversation between John and the Lord Jesus Christ? Glory be to God. You remember in Acts of Apostles chapter three, the Bible tells us that "Repent and be converted, then your sins will be blotted out and the time of refreshing shall proceed from the presence of the Lord." See the process. Repent and be converted, then your sins will be blotted out. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

See this thing. Amen. Jesus Christ, by coming to John, was identifying with the sins of man. Even though He is without sin. But He identified with the sins of man and came to be baptized as sinners will be baptized after repentance. Are you understanding what I'm saying now? Okay. He is without sin. But He came to represent man. So He had to identify with man in every way. Glory be to God. So He submitted Himself to John to be baptized. Baptism of repentance. That baptism is baptism of repentance. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen. The Bible tells us when you are, when you have repented, that's when the refreshing will come. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.

So when He was baptized, look at what happens in the next verse, verse 16. "When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him." Meaning that after repentance, when we repent, glory be to God, and we're truly turned to God and our sins are, you know, blotted out, we come under open heaven. Amen. Glory be to the name of the Lord.

When we don't know these things, when we don't understand these things, we're not able to lay hold of it. Ignorance is one of the main problems of our lives. And the enemy keeps us because if you don't know the truth, you can't walk in the truth. Yes, sir. Don't people do it? Human beings do it. They know something that is good for you that can lead you forward. They keep it from you. Amen. Even the Western world said that, "Well, blacks, they don't read. So if you want to hide anything, put it in a book." They know you won't read it. So if you don't read it, you can't know what is there. Is that not so? Aha. Why are they putting it in a book once they know you don't read? Why don't they sit you down to say, "Oh, look, that's not the way to do it. This is the way to do it"? Because if you know how to do it, you will excel. Do you understand? Yes, sir.

Amen. Amen. So this is what is happening. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. It is our duty to want to know. Nobody needs to be persuading us to know. You must desire to know. Because listen, the way I look at things is that, why are you in this when it is, when you don't want, when, when if I don't see anything working. Every from my youth, if somebody calls me into something and it's not working and I question it and I don't get an answer, I'm walking away from it. I've always wanted things to work. It has to work. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. If it does not work, I don't want to waste my time. Blessed be the name of it. It has been part of me from my youth.

I got here, we were in the Nigerian Council of Ministers, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. After a while, I saw what they were doing. I said, "Look, God did not send me to America to join the Nigerian Council of Ministers. He sent me to America to start a church. I don't want to waste my time." I walked away. That's who I am. Praise the Lord. There must be results. Anything we do, there must be results. We don't just get involved in the motion. That doesn't, to me, it doesn't make any sense. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. If we believe, we must see, we must see proof that what I believe is right and we must be seeing it daily. We can't be working on the one we see in the past. Glory be to God. Has God gone on vacation? No. Is He sleeping? No. Is He not for us? No. Then we must see Him manifest every day. Blessed be the name of the Lord. And we must make up our minds that that is what we want. Because these things are not going to be forced upon us. Amen.

So this is what we see here. The heavens are open when we come through genuine repentance to the Lord and our sins are blotted out. The heavens are open. What does that mean? Communication. The blessings of God come. We can reach Him now. We can talk to our Father. Like she did. Like many of us are doing here. That is what is the key and we should be looking forward to moment after moment communication with God. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. You're driving. Which way, Lord? That's the thing. You're cooking. What do I do next, Lord? That's what we're talking about. That is what makes us a mystery to the world. Amen. And these are the products of the refreshing.

So after He has gone under the baptism of repentance to identify with man, then look at what happened. The heavens were opened to Him and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. Before that baptism, the Spirit did not come. Why is it that the Spirit is coming at this time? Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. It's time for the ministry. It's time for manifestation. It's time for Him to reveal God. Amen. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.

The inner workings have been going on. But it's time for you and I now to reveal God. I want you to believe the word of God. The inner workings have been going on over the years. The Lord has been doing marvelous works within us over the years. We have heard the word of God. It's time now for the manifestation. The manifestation does not come until the refreshing comes. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen.

So we have seen John 20:21. Go back there, please. John 20:21. This is the Lord Jesus Christ speaking. So that you can know that this thing is true. "Peace be to you! As my Father sent me, I also send," uh, "as my Father sent me, so I also send you." Verse 22. "And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.'" So He didn't just speak. He breathed on them. So that breathing upon them, let your mind go to Genesis chapter two. When the Lord made the clay, He breathed into the clay. And man became a living being. Yes. How? By the Spirit of God. So that's the exact thing He did here. Breathed into them. And then He says, "Receive the Holy Spirit." Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

This is the moment the disciples were born again. Hallelujah. This is the moment that the disciples were born again. They had been with Him. They had heard the gospel. All right? But this confirms they're born again. "Receive ye the Holy Spirit." A new spirit came into them. This is the be- this is the beginning of the new creation. Amen. "If any man be in Christ Jesus, say new creation. Old things have passed away, everything has become new." This is the beginning. Praise the Lord.

Then look at Luke chapter 24 verse 49. He has done this. Bear it in mind He has done this. All right? Take, take that in your mind and see. Look at what He now said in verse 24, 49 of chapter 24 of Luke. "Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high." So here He is saying, "You are born again, but wait. I want to endue you with power from on high." Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. So the initial work of the Holy Spirit is the regeneration of the new man in us. But that's not the end. So He's promising them something else. Now go to Acts of Apostle chapter one. Acts of Apostle chapter one.

Verse, let's start. "The former account I made, oh Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to do and to teach." Yes, verse two. "Until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait for the promise of the Father." That promise that He gave before in Luke chapter 24. Say, "Wait." He's, He's in- telling them don't just stay in Jerusalem, you wait for the promise of the Father "Which," He said, "you have heard from me." Verse 4 and verse 5. "For John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now." Wait a minute there, please. Wait a minute there.

So what was the promise that He gave them in Luke chapter 24 verse, verse 9? When He said, "Until, you know, you receive the promise of the Father." What is that promise? The Holy Spirit. But then He had breathed before and said, "Receive ye the Holy Spirit." Now He's promising the Holy Spirit again. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen. Meaning that there is the initial work of the Holy Spirit, and there is the further work of the Holy Spirit.

So let's go to verse 6 now. Amen. He said, "Therefore when they had come together and asked Him, saying, 'Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?'" All that He is saying, they heard. But in their mind, that's not the- yeah, okay, well, wait, wait, we'll wait. But what about the kingdom? We are still like that today. Focusing on things that are not as important as what the Lord wants to do. Glory be to God. "Will You at this time restore the kingdom?" How did He answer them? Verse seven. "And He said to them, 'It is not for you to know times and seasons, which the Father has put in His own authority. It is not for you to know.'"

I want to say to you, everyone that has ever predicted time and season concerning things of God, they've, they've always failed. Last year they said Jesus Christ will return. We're still here. He has not returned. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Every time we want to show that we know Jesus Christ, we know the time Jesus Christ has come, we are implying that the word of God is wrong. We are implying that God does not tell the truth. But people show off in their power. They will say they have a new revelation. There is no revelation that can supersede this. "It is not for you to know." Amen. It means it's none of your business. Do you understand? Yes, sir. Amen. Amen. Ah, do I tell you everything? Eh? No, sir. I only tell you what you need to know. So if it's not for you to know, then why are you- why are you saying you know? And it can only come from me. Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

I have all of you here, I've known all of you for years, do I know everything about you? No, sir. Do you know everything about me? No, sir. Because there are some things that is not for you to know. Yes, sir! Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen. Uh, so if you're trying to say I know, then you're lying or you're walking in witchcraft or sorcery or divination. Glory be to God. And your divination may not be correct. Yes! Because, you know, if you're not to know and my Father is with me, you make divination, He will be telling you wrong things. Glory be to God.

So He said, "It is not for you to know times and seasons, which the Father has put on His own authority." Verse 8, this is where I'm going. "But you shall receive power," hallelujah, "after," or "when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. When you receive that power, then you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth." Glory be to God. Hallelujah.

This is the refreshing. It comes to empower us to stand for the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. The refreshing comes to empower us to manifest who we really are. Amen. Apostle Paul began as a fisherman. He was an apostle. In that fisherman was the apostle. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. It takes- it took the Holy Spirit to bring the apostle out of the fisherman. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. It is the Holy Spirit that will bring us out of our shell. Amen. It is the Holy Spirit that will reveal who we truly are to the world. Amen. It is the Holy Spirit that will equip us to be a blessing that God has created us to be to this world. Amen. Praise the Lord. Stop thinking that they are just- don't follow doctrine that they are preaching. Say, "It is no longer the Holy Spirit." This- they are- they don't know what they are talking about. Follow the word of God. Amen. Follow the word of God. Amen. Praise the Lord.

So when Acts of Apostle chapter two, the Bible says that the Holy Spirit came upon them the day of Pentecost after they had waited. The ministry did not begin until the Holy Spirit came upon them. The Bible tells us in Zechariah chapter four verse 6, He said, "It's not by might, it's not by power, it is by my Spirit, said the Lord." No born-again believer can do the work of the Lord without the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Yeah. Yeah. Praise the Lord. He said to me, He said ministry can only be done by the power of the Holy Spirit. That's what He told me. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.

Every true minister is- should be working in the power of the Holy Spirit. And when you are working in the power of the Holy Spirit and the enemy is toying around, it's only by the mercy of God that that enemy can, you know, you know, yeah. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. We have seen in this church. I don't look for, you know, what are people, you can carry what, what you want. I know what I carry. Amen. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen.

But people have come to this church and they have gone insane because they carried evil power to test the power of God. I'm not the one, I'm not the owner of the church. Praise the Lord. You coming against me, who am I? But I know the Lord is in this place. Amen! Blessed be the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. And He- He said, "I'm with you like a mighty warrior." This must be your mentality. The Lord is with you everywhere you go. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. No evil will befall you. Amen. No plague will come near your dwelling. Amen. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. He will break the rod of the wicked in pieces. Amen. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. This is what you have to know so that you don't allow anxiety to bombard your mind to the extent that you will become redundant. Because when you are anxious and you're filled with fear, you cannot do anything. And it's one of the tools that the devil uses to repress your life. But you'll be shining from now on. Amen. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

You, like a sharp sword, will be cutting everything that comes against you. Amen. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. The- the Holy Spirit will keep you standing. Amen. You need the Holy Spirit baptism. Amen. Blessed be the name of the Lord. There are many spirits in the world, but the greatest spirit in the world today is the Holy Spirit. Amen. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Don't permit any corrupt spirit in you. Don't permit any polluting spirit in you. Don't permit any defiling spirit in you. Receive the Holy Spirit! Amen! Receive the Holy Spirit! Amen! Receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit! Amen! That thing will bring your manifestation and it will free you from all of the things that the devil is holding you down from. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. You need the Holy Spirit. Don't let them deceive you. Amen! Jesus!

And how do they- what is the manifestation? What is the proof that you have the Holy Spirit? Let's go to Acts of Apostle chapter two. What is the proof? We're going to round up now and then we'll continue later. Amen. I, I have promised myself that I want to be disciplined in time. Amen! How much time have I spent here? Amen. Thank You, Lord. Does anybody know how much time I've spent? Hm? How many? Eh? I've spent an hour? No. None of you. I've spent an hour? No. No. I am determined to keep time. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Yeah, 54 minutes. Let's, let's round up. No, I'm, I'm determined to- Praise God! Look at you. We are happy for you. We are happy for you. Uh, you're a politician. You say you are happy for me. Do you think what, do you know what I would rather do? No! You want to go more. No. Continue. I'm doing what I'm doing for your own sakes. You think it's for me? Oh, okay. Amen. Amen.

What we are talking about now, we can be going on for two hours if you guys are ready. But, uh, I don't want you to start judging me. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. I want you to receive. I don't want you to have offense. If you have offense in your heart, then what you- what you receive will not benefit you. So I don't want you to have offense. Yes, sir. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen.

But let's conclude with Acts of Apostle chapter two. What, you know, when, when you want to look for proof of anything in the Bible, you go to the Bible. Yes, sir. Because the Bible doesn't confuse you. Yes, sir. It tells you everything. If you search, you will see the truth in it. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. We only bring that truth to you. We- we are not taking- I'm not taking it from my pocket. I'm not the owner of this world. It is our Father, and I am just showing it to you by His grace. Amen. And I show it to you so that you can know it for yourself. Amen.

Look at what He said. You know, first of all, He promised them, "Go and stay in Jerusalem until you be endued with power from on high. Then you shall be witnesses unto me." Does Jesus want them to witness for Him? Yes. We know that He wants them to witness for Him. Now, if the witnessing is so important to Him, will He not tell them to start right away? Yes, but He said, "Look, wait. You're going to witness for me, but you need something." Mm-hmm. This is what we must understand. You need something. For you to be my witness, there is still something you need. Mm-hmm. Yes, you have received the Holy Spirit within you. Yes, you are born again. But for you to stand for me and speak for me anywhere I send you, you still need something. Go and wait for that promise. It is after you receive that promise that you will be able to witness for me. Amen. Amen.

Part of the people that are undermining the church of God are those who are ministering without the power of the Holy Spirit. Every child of God must minister in the power of the Holy Spirit. It has to be the power of the Holy Spirit, not your sense. The power of the Holy Spirit. Your words must come with the power of the Holy Spirit. When words come with the power of the Holy Spirit, it changes lives. It changes circumstances. It overturns all the works of the devil. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. You speak words and people will be delivered. Blessed be the name of the Lord. That is the essence of that power.

You don't want- I want you to pray, "Lord, I don't want my word to be empty. I don't want to be speaking empty words. I want my word to produce according to Your desire for my life. I want my word to make impact in the name of Jesus Christ. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. That every time I speak, I will be speaking in the power of the Holy Spirit." Yes. Yes! God wants us to speak differently. How? In the power of the Holy Spirit.

So he said, "When the day of Pentecost has fully come," after they had waited. It was God that chose the day and the time. So when it has fully come, the Bible says that, you know, "They were all with one accord in one place." Verse two. "And suddenly," the baptism of the Holy Spirit does not come with announcement. It comes suddenly. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. So he said, "A sound from heaven, there was a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind. And it filled the whole house where they were sitting." Verse three. "Then there appeared to them divided tongues of fire, divided tongues of what? Of fire." We're talking of the Holy Spirit, and he's saying divided tongues of fire. Blessed be the name of the Lord. We're talking of the same thing. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. "And one sat upon each of them," upon each of them, meaning that everyone received that tongue of fire. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen.

Verse, verse four. "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit." They were all filled with the Holy Spirit. They had been endued with the Holy Spirit within. But now they are filled with the Holy Spirit. And what is the result? "And began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance." This is the proof that a person is baptized in the Holy Spirit, when he begins to speak with other tongues, not his normal language. With other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. It's a supernatural work. Amen. And it is a work that God does in each of us that we may manifest Him to the world. The refreshing is for us to manifest the Lord. Amen.

Praise the Lord. Timidity disappeared when the Holy Spirit came. Oh yes. Fear disappeared when the Holy Spirit came. Oh yes. They- they were in hiding before. They couldn't hide anymore because the Holy Spirit came. The refreshing is to destroy everything that has been putting you in hiding. Amen. Amen. Amen. The refreshing has come to destroy everything that has kept you obscure. Amen. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. The refreshing came to destroy all the veils that the devil has put over you. Amen. Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. The refreshing is here that you may manifest your true self. Amen. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Because we will go forward in this Acts of Apostle later. The people said, "Ah-ah, are these not all Galileans? Hm? We know them. How come that they are speaking and every one of us, we understand them in our own language?" What happens? They are changed. Amen. They are able to reach nations, hallelujah, supernaturally by speaking their language. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen.

If you go to any nation, no matter how, no matter how blessed your trip may be, no matter all the things you acquire in that nation. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. When you're walking around and you see someone speak your language, things change, doesn't it change? It's changed. "Oh, you are here. You're from my place." Yes! Yesterday someone called me from Home Depot because there was a transaction we wanted to, and then he said, "My name is Adebayo" or something like that. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. So after we did the transaction, I said, "You Adebayo, my name is Femi Owoyemi," and I started blessing him. Amen. Glory be to God. Yes, he's my person. He's my people. Glory be to God. I have a right to bless him. Yes. I blessed him. He said, "Thank you, sir." Uh-huh. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. Amen.

This is normal. They began to speak a different language which they had never learned. Glory be to God. Hallelujah. God will empower you in the refreshing to do what you have never been able to do. Amen. And what you could never do in your own capacity. I want you to rise up on your feet and begin to ask the Lord. Listen! Look at verse 38 of that scripture. Look at verse 38 of that Acts of Apostle chapter two. Look at this. Look at the process that Peter told them. You will see that it's the same process. It's the same process for Jesus, same process for everybody. He said, "Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins." And then what will happen? "And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

You cannot have the refreshing without repenting. So it's not me that is saying you are a sinner. No. This is the process. Repent! What do you have to repent of? Repent of all evils you have been involved with. Repent of all the things that the Spirit brings into your mind to repent of. Go ahead and do that. Just pray now and as you are praying, believe the Holy Spirit to be quickening into your spirit those things you need to repent of. Whether they are small or large, trust Him. Trust Him. He will tell you.

Once He tells you, say, "Lord, I repent of that sin. Forgive me in the name of Jesus Christ. I turn from it in the mighty name of Jesus. When He brings another one, you say to Him, "Lord, I repent of this sin in the mighty name of Jesus. Oh Lord Almighty, I turn away from it. I desire the refreshing." My Lord, I repent. Forgive me in the name of Jesus Christ. When He brings another one, all the relationships, immoral relationships you have been in, He will bring them into your mind. The things you have said that you shouldn't have said. The things you should do that you didn't do. He will bring them into your mind. Go ahead and trust Him. Go ahead and trust Him. All the lies you have lived, He will bring it into your mind. Tell Him you repent and make up your mind you will not do those things anymore.

Anyone you have cheated, He will bring it into your mind. He is the Holy Spirit. He wants to make you holy. The repenting and confession of sin is cleansing. He wants to clean you. The Lord will not dwell in a vessel that is not clean. That is why the repenting must come first. He is cleaning us. He's not condemning us. Praise God. He's not condemning us. So open your heart. Whatever He brings into your heart, repent of it. Lord, I repent of this. Once He brings it. It may be something that you are even thinking you want to do that you shouldn't do and He brings it, tell Him, "Lord, I repent." They may be very small. In your own heart, they may be very small. But once He brings it to you, you repent.

The things that you should be doing, you are not doing, repent. If you are being a person that is steeped in hypocrisy, you know you are an hypocrite. He will bring it to your heart. Tell Him, "Lord, I repent. From today I'm going to live true. From today I'm going to live clean in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. My Lord and my God, I repent. I repent. Lord, I repent. Forgive me my sins in the name of Jesus Christ. Forgive me my sins. I repent of my sins. My Lord, forgive me my sins. I desire the refreshing. I desire the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. I cannot go on like this. I need You, Father. I repent of my sins." In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. Just tell Him.

Glory be to the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. Just tell Him, "Father, You have promised the refreshing. I need the refreshing. Pour out the Spirit upon me." I want you to pray in faith. I need to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Baptize me, Lord, in the Holy Spirit. This is Your promise to me. I'm here to receive Your promise. Baptize me with the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues in the name of Jesus Christ. Be baptized in the Holy Spirit. [Foreign language] in the name of Jesus Christ. Baptize me in the Holy Spirit. As you are praying, if you want me to lay hand on you, come forward now. I will lay hand on you for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Come in faith if you desire it. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Ask the Lord, "Baptize me in the Holy Spirit. Baptize me in the Holy Spirit." Lord, I desire the true baptism of the Holy Spirit. I want to receive the Holy Spirit. I want to receive the Holy Spirit based on Your promise to me, Lord. Give me the Holy Spirit. Baptize me in the Holy Spirit in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I desire the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Glory be to God. Amen. Lift up your hand. Yes. And ask the Lord, "I desire to be baptized in the Holy Spirit."

Bishop Femi Owoyemi: In scripture, when the apostles laid their hands, the people received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That's why I want to lay hand on you for you to receive. Receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Father, we thank You for the promise is for Your children. You said it's for them and to those who are far off. Baptize Your daughter in the Holy Spirit. [Foreign language]. Holy Spirit fill her in the name of Jesus Christ. Fill her. [Foreign language]. As the Apostle Paul laid hand on those twelve that day in Acts of Apostle chapter 19, and they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I lay hand on Your daughter for the same effect in the name of Jesus Christ. As Apostle Peter and John laid hands on the people in Samaria and they received the Holy Spirit, I lay hand on Your daughter for the same result. [Foreign language]. For us to believe the word of God, many years ago, there were about eight college students that came to our fellowship in Nigeria. And as she came out, eight of them came out in a service like this to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And we pray for them. Seven of them began to speak in tongues immediately we pray. And the other one was very sad and began to weep. And I told her, "Listen, you are already baptized, the manifestation will come." I didn't say that just because I just want to say that. So I said, "Don't weep, don't cry, we have prayed." So she left.

The following Sunday, as she was stepping in her church- because our fellowship was a house fellowship after church and it was an interdenominational house fellowship- as she was stepping into her church, she began to speak in tongues. I'm saying that for your, for your sake. The prayer has gone forth, you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, the manifestation will come up in the name of Jesus Christ. Glory be to God. When it comes, don't act strange because there are occasions you say, "Ah, what am I speaking?" And then all of a sudden, it stops. So don't know that that's the baptism. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Amen. Glory be to the name of the Lord. I have one assignment before I finish. I should be going now, but they gave me another assignment. Amen. Prince, come.

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. He said, "I am with you always, even to the very end of the age." As I pray this prayer today, everywhere you go, you will know that God is with you. Amen. Nobody will have to convince you. Amen. You will know in your heart. Amen. You will see Him that is invisible. Amen. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. The Bible says that when we come to the Lord, as we have read in scripture, He will lift us up. The Lord will lift you up. Amen. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. He said, "Though your beginning may be small," he said, "your latter end shall greatly increase." Amen. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. He said, uh, "We should not despise," you know, the time of small beginnings. He said the end of a matter is better than the beginning thereof.
