This Prayer Led to a Shocking HEALING Miracle...
Sid Roth: Hello, Sid Roth here. Welcome to my world where it's naturally supernatural. He grew up a preacher's kid, speaking in tongues, witnessing miracles, but for 13 years he was trapped in drug addiction and nearly died. Then the unexpected: the power of a mother's words. Could spoken words change someone's life? Next.
Welcome, Holy Spirit. You're our most important guest. Go and flow. Now ministering on the streets of some of America's toughest neighborhoods, Dan Mohler Jr.'s journey proves that no one is ever beyond hope. I want to find out about Dan's childhood and supernatural experiences. You started early, probably before you were in your mother's womb because of your parents. Tell me about that.
Dan Mohler Jr.: I was raised in a Christian home and gave my life to God at a very young age, at age five. Before that, my parents just went through the motions. My dad would raise his hands and didn't really understand what he was doing. Then he had a supernatural encounter in a warehouse. He was an order selector, and the voice of the Lord came to him one day in the middle of his work shift and said, "You don't even know if I'm real."
He said it stopped him dead in his tracks. He can't explain it as completely audible, but it was like someone was talking to him. He said, "You don't even know if I'm real," and the presence of the Holy Spirit came over him so strong, he looked up and went, "Oh my gosh, I don't even know if you're real." Co-workers, it was like everyone disappeared; nobody was in the aisle. There was a grace for it. He came home completely changed.
From that place, we saw a massive shift in our family. We started really taking church seriously. It wasn't even two years later we had a guest speaker come and preach on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He called everybody up front, and we were all new to it. I saw people falling out in the spirit, and at first I thought that was strange because I was a little kid. When we went up, the man prayed over us, and my sister and I got filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.
Several days later on the bus, the school bus driver actually said something to us and asked my mother what was going on with her kids because we were so filled with joy and we were speaking in tongues on the bus to one another. We were just saturated with the Holy Ghost.
Sid Roth: And God put a PS on all of that, because that same year you had a horrific accident with your pinky. Which pinky?
Dan Mohler Jr.: It was this pinky right here. My dad and I were out fishing in his aluminum canoe. We were out all day, hot summer day. We were coming into the dock, and he had a marine battery to work with his trolling motor. A marine battery is full of acid, and he always told me to stay away from the battery because the acid would burn my skin. When we were unloading the canoe, he pulled the battery out and he slipped, and it fell on my finger.
I screamed at the top of my lungs because it's 70 pounds and it completely smashed my finger. It was paper flat, just like a paper. It was dangling and it went purple immediately and I couldn't feel it. As a seven-year-old, I'm thinking I'm going to lose my finger. But the supernatural encounter was what my dad did. Instead of freaking out, my dad had such a relationship with the Lord and intimacy.
When that happened in that moment, he didn't say anything about asking the Lord to heal my finger. He wrapped his arms around me as a father and he said, "Father, I thank you for your love. God, I thank you for your mercy. Father, I thank you for your grace over my son." People were looking at him like, "What did you just do to your kid?" Within moments he was molding my finger while he was talking and it was painless.
Within about 40 seconds, my finger was completely back to life, restored, all the color was back in, the bone was mended back together, and I was able to flex it and actually help him load the rest of the stuff into the truck.
Sid Roth: That had to have a lifetime impact on you.
Dan Mohler Jr.: It did. It marked me. It showed me God's love for me and that he was very real. I'll never forget my dad says the moment that I looked up to him. He said it was like a movie, the sun was hitting his face and my face, and a tear came down my cheek. I looked up at him and said, "Daddy, it sure is good we know Jesus." That was probably a very proud dad moment.
Sid Roth: But this is hard to believe. You lived a double life. Clarify that.
Dan Mohler Jr.: Even though I was marked by the love of God, people ask how I could ever go astray after that. It is because I would look up to my own dad and even people in the church would tell me I had big shoes to fill. It put pressure on me at a young age. I believe I believed the lies of the enemy and created the pressure where I felt like I had to live up to a certain standard. What would happen is I would apply my dad's revelation to my life rather than get my own through intimacy with God. I would always fall short and I'd question God why he's not there for me like he's there for him.
Sid Roth: I wonder if there are people that watch this show, hear testimonies, and then they try what they were taught and nothing happens. They get offended or they just walk away. I imagine that happens a lot.
Dan Mohler Jr.: Even with a great Christian family, around 10 or 12 you get curious about the world and you start hanging with the wrong crowd. I was always trying to fit in. At a young age, my parents didn't celebrate Halloween, and it was just a personal conviction. They would pull me out of parties and kids would make comments to me and think I was the oddball out.
I always wanted to blend in and fit in with the crowd. By age 10 or 12, I started hanging out with the wrong crowd. I was invited to one of the popular kids' houses, and he got me high for the first time. Even into high school sports, I was looking for my identity through other things besides God because only he can fill that void.
Sid Roth: Dan lived this lifestyle of drugs for 13 years. Your parents knew what you were doing. How'd they cope with that?
Dan Mohler Jr.: It actually took a while for them to realize. They knew I was becoming rebellious. Instead of going to church and then coming home after Sunday school to hang out with the family, I was always on my bicycle going somewhere else and that was to go do the drugs and to fit in. They didn't know at first because I was very good at hiding it and I knew church language. I started getting angry at home. After a while, my dad pretty much had to sit me down and have a conversation with me.
Sid Roth: You were at a crack house and at 2:00 in the morning your mom texted you?
Dan Mohler Jr.: I would take advantage of when my dad was out of town. I would manipulate my mom. When my dad was out of town I could go do what I want. I was angry. I would write raps about my dad in music and I felt like if my dad wasn't in my life things would be better. That was just the enemy. He actually found those letters I would write about how I wish his plane would crash and he wouldn't come home. It makes me emotional. My mom never lost hope.
When I was out running, I would be in a crack house at 4:00 in the morning and she wasn't texting me saying, "Where are you? You've been missing for days. You know better." She would text me and say, "I love you, man of God."
Sid Roth: What did you think when your mom texted you at 2:00 in the morning at a crack house and called you a man of God?
Dan Mohler Jr.: A lot of times I was annoyed because I didn't want to live like a man of God. But it was the conviction inside of my heart that stayed alive. People ask me all the time if I still heard the Holy Spirit when I was in addiction. I heard him so clear always nudging me to go back to the truth.

Something happened to Dan and he desired to go home. What happened?
Dan Mohler Jr.: Earlier I mentioned when my dad would go out of town, that was when I would manipulate my mom. I would threaten my mom that if she told my dad this or that, I would threaten things. I would punch holes in my wall. I was very angry. At this time I got reunited with my dad.
Sid Roth: I know who you are today and I find this story so hard to believe that you were there, but you were.
Dan Mohler Jr.: I hear that a lot when I travel and preach everywhere and they say they can't even imagine me doing that. My dad asked my mom where I went and I just disappeared again. I went for almost a year not talking to my dad. I was in full-fledged addiction. I still had a good job, but then my transmission had gone out in my car so I lost my job. I didn't have any money, so I started bouncing checks. I would go to the grocery store and buy something for $10 and then write the check for $50 to get $40 cash back and overdraw my account.
I kept doing that and the bank contacted my dad and asked to speak to me about it. He notified me through my mom that I would get locked up if I continued to do that. I was just so far in addiction I didn't really care. But then I cut that off and started doing other things to fuel the addiction. I ended up hitting rock bottom to the point where we didn't have to pay our rent because it was prepaid, but we still had our electric cut off several times just because of the addiction being so intense.
Over a course of the time my mom would still come over. I would manipulate her into giving me money because I would say I needed $10 in quarters to do laundry and she knew darn well that I was not using it for that. But as a mother's love, she was trying to find that level of enablement versus loving me through the situation. It was about a year's time that I went through this until I hit the rock bottom where I said I can't do this anymore.
It was the scariest thing I ever did in my life. I felt like it was the enemy in my mind telling me that I wouldn't be welcome home. I wasn't aware of the prodigal son story at that time. I wasn't in the Word, but that's exactly how it played out. I drove to my dad's house one day in a little beat-up car that we had that barely drove and I knew his truck was in the driveway. My mom was out of town. I waited until she left town so it was just him and me. I knocked on his front door and I stood back along the wall. He came to the door and he opened it and he looked around the corner and he said, "Hey buddy, it's so good to see you." I lost it and I said, "Can I come in?"
Sid Roth: What did you look like when he saw you?
Dan Mohler Jr.: I was strung out, missing a bunch of teeth, and I was 123 pounds. Right now I'm about 150. I said, "Can I come in?" and he said, "Of course." I said, "I'm sorry, I know you're mad at me," and he said, "I'm mad at you? How could I ever be mad at you?" He wrapped his arms around me and he said, "I love you, son. You're living just so less than what you're worth. You're so much more." It was the love that brought me home. Dan shared on Facebook how his dad received him. Let's go to that clip right now.
Guest (Male): I looked at my boy and said, "Well, let me start, Dan, since you don't know where to start. Do you understand I'm not disappointed or angry with you one bit?" He said, "Dad, that can't be true, and I don't know how that can be possible after all I've done." I said, "I don't know how you believe it can be possible. My life's not my own. You don't owe me anything. If I cry one tear, I cry for you because you're so much more than what you're choosing. Son, I'm not disappointed with you." He looked in my eyes and saw that there was no disappointment and he lost it. He told his mama that was the transformation of my life when I saw the love of God in Dad when all he could see me for is what I was created for, not where I had been. I was overwhelmed by the love of God. I know he's my dad and I heard him preach it a thousand times growing up, but I saw it in his life and I gave him every chance to be something else and he didn't go.
Sid Roth: So Dan moved back home and he was doing great until temptations crept back. He started falling into his old lifestyle, but this time worse. What happened?
Dan Mohler Jr.: After I moved back home, my dad helped me get back on my feet. He actually purchased me a lower-end car just to be able to get to and from work. I got a job in a warehouse as an order selector and I was making very good money. Over time I started to get comfortable. I was still going to church, but I started getting comfortable and I actually stepped back into addiction with the K2 synthetic marijuana because in my conscience it wasn't as bad as doing the real thing.
But it was actually a whole lot worse and had a lot of worse things in it, chemicals and stuff worse than a lot of hard drugs. That led me down a spiral to where I felt condemned in my own heart. I knew right from wrong and I'm going to let my parents down again. That led me into a very deep addiction to the point where my parents finally realized. They sat me down again and said I really needed to get help.
I went to what we call Teen Challenge. It was down in North Carolina in Pinehurst, Sandhills, and I did a 14-month program. Before I went, my dad told me if I didn't complete the program I wasn't coming back home.
Sid Roth: Really tough love.
Dan Mohler Jr.: It was tough love and they drove me down. The Lord was even working. I was addicted to cigarettes and the day before I was thinking how I was even going to quit cigarettes to go to the program, but the morning we left I had no desire to smoke. That was another fingerprint of God's grace. We headed down North Carolina, but in my heart I already felt like I already knew I wasn't going to do the 14 months because my parents said I needed help, but I wasn't ready to change. There's a difference because help will get you through the moment, but change transforms you.
The first four months of that program were amazing. It's where I got to know the Lord for myself and understand a relationship with God and there was a major transition. After the four months, I transferred to what they call the training center and it was only about an hour from my house in Pennsylvania. I was there for 24 hours and I felt like we had a family visit and I got homesick and felt like it was time to go.
The program was actually pushing back saying if I left I would relapse. It was almost like speaking death over my life because they see such a bad outcome when people leave. I called my mom and my dad was out of town. She talked to him and he said let him come home. He went back on his word on that because he saw the transformation in my life. I was home for a short season after that and actually went to another rehab for a year long and that was where I really got straightened out because I decided to go on my own that time and I completed that.
Sid Roth: You saw a major miracle happen before your eyes. What was it and what impact did it have on you?
Dan Mohler Jr.: That was the second rehab I went to that I completed. I was in there for three weeks and I was still coming through withdrawals. It was down in Tennessee and one of the students approached me. He saw my name and he recognized my dad's name because my dad had preached at a service at one of their events. He didn't understand how I was in rehab being my dad's son. Again, it was the comparison thing that I dealt with my whole life that got me into the addiction. So now it's like how's Pastor Dan's son here? He should be doing better. It was always this facade I had to put on to pretend I'm okay.
I see it happen a lot in ministries and churches and pastors' kids. That's why you hear preachers' kids are the worst. People would speak that over my life and as a man thinks so he becomes. I used to buy that lie as a child and I came in agreement with it and I got the same outcome that I always dreaded. I was in three weeks and the student approached me and he pulled up his sleeve and he asked me to pray for him. He had track marks the whole way down his arm like railroad tracks from shooting heroin.
He said he hears all this stuff about being a new creation in Christ and this and that, but his mind always goes back to his past when he sees this. He had been there four months and was doing good, but it made him want to leave and go get high again. He asked me to pray for him and it was right before bedtime. I said to come in the bathroom. We walk in the bathroom and it was a 20-second prayer just led by the Holy Spirit and it was just from a place of love. I've heard my dad share testimonies about God's supernatural power in healing scars like so many accounts of it, but I never saw God's power in my life like that.
Here I am three weeks in rehab, going through withdrawals, this guy calls me in to pray for his arm, and the prayer went something like this: I said, "Father God, I thank you for Scott and I thank you for the love that you have for him. Holy Spirit, I ask that you make all things new, including his skin, in Jesus' name, Amen." I felt the Lord say to breathe on him. He kind of fell back a little and that was it. We went to bed.
The next morning he walks in and he looks white as a ghost and we're at breakfast and he didn't say a word. He just pulls his sleeve up and he had brand new skin. No more marks. I want to just encourage whoever's watching this. When you hear a testimony like that, if you become skeptical and you think you don't believe that, I just want to encourage you the reason you don't see those things is because of that belief.
I had to understand God's love. The pastors found out within a moment because it was going around the center and they called me back in the office. They sat me down and they asked me to tell them what happened. I shared what happened and they said they didn't want me praying for anybody else. Some people hear that and they think what kind of leadership would do that when you're flowing in the supernatural.
But I totally respected it and I totally understood it and I got this from my father's heart preaching over the years. I wasn't there to pour out. I was broken, I was lost, I was confused, and gifts are without repentance. You can flow in the supernatural and be a million miles from God and find your validation through your gifts rather than who you are. If I would have continued to flow in the gift, I would have thought I'm okay with God flowing in all these different ways. Now I'm only as good as the gift is operating and that's how you get the "depart from me, I never knew you."
I wasn't there to pour out; I was there to be filled up and I said, "Yes, sir, I understand." Long story short, I was the first student to ever be released to pray over staff members and other students within about three months and I continued to watch the supernatural power of God flow, but now it was from a healthy place.
Sid Roth: Do you know Jesus? Do you know him? I want you to say this prayer and if you mean it, he will move into your life and you will know him. Repeat after me:
Dear God, I'm a sinner. I'm so sorry. I need experiential knowledge with you. I make you my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Guest (Female): My husband was diagnosed with cancer in his pancreatic duct. Your show literally got me through some of the darkest hours of my life. I chose to believe the Word of God coupled with listening to your show and it made all the difference in those dark times. The doctors were able to remove the cancer completely along with 37 surrounding lymph nodes. His recovery has gone remarkably well with even his doctors and nurses confirming how well he looks. Pathology came back negative, including all 37 lymph nodes. All they found was the original focal point where it all started. My family knows that this trial was nothing short of a miracle and it was all God's supernatural power that brought him through. Thank you so much for your show. It was the lifeline I clung to.

About It's Supernatural!
It's Supernatural! deals with subjects that most shy away from in this seeker-sensitive age. It emphasizes the supernatural, biblical viewpoint that the secular networks do not understand. And at the end of each program, host, Sid Roth, tells the viewers how they can have intimacy with God.
About Sid Roth
Sid Roth, host of It's Supernatural! television program, is a Jewish believer in Jesus the Messiah. In 1977 Sid started a ministry called Messianic Vision and a nationally syndicated radio broadcast by the same name (he started the TV program in the 1990's). But the Messianic Vision is more than a ministry or a program; it is a desire to reach out with the good news of the Messiah "to the Jew first" (Romans 1:16). This is not just God's historical order for spreading the gospel, but also His eternal spiritual order. When we follow this "law of evangelism," God opens a supernatural door to reach large numbers of Gentiles (even more than if we had gone to the Gentile first). God's heart is to reach all people. His strategy is "to the Jew first."
