Sid Roth: Hello, Sid Roth here. Welcome to my world where it's naturally supernatural. The world is in crisis. Fear, anxiety, and depression are affecting every age group, believers and non-believers alike. My guests have a proven 100% cure, next.

I've thought for myself in every area of life, but one. I knew nothing until I discovered a realm where the truth isn't what it seems, a realm where the truth becomes reality. I've spent over 50 years investigating the world of the supernatural. Every moment has led up to the main event. Millions of Jewish people will be saved all over the world. God's heart is for all to believe, for none to perish. It's called the greater glory. Do you believe? It's supernatural.

Welcome, Holy Spirit. Go and flow. They were on the brink of suicide, epic abuse, pain that could have destroyed them. Jason and Gwen Clark survived, and now they're bringing this same wholeness to the world. Gwen looked fine on the outside, a strong Christian family and a practicing Christian herself, but lived as a lesbian. Jason's father was a pastor, yet he was so fractured. Why were you so fractured, Jason?

Jason Clark: Well, it started with perception. When I was probably between four and five years old, my idea of my father was that he was absent all the time. And then when he started the pastorate soon after, it just seemed to fortify that feeling. And that's just not necessarily the reality, but the reality of the child that I was, that was my universe.

Even at a very young age, I was very stoic, hid my emotions. Perfectionism kind of ruled my life, even in kindergarten. I wanted to be perfect. I wanted to be a good little boy because I felt then I would be accepted. And that hole that I was feeling was something missing, was slightly filled when I got that, "Oh, he's a great boy." It was like a seed that was planted so early, but that space, that void that I needed filled, kind of lurked in the background.

Sid Roth: So you move in with a woman, it's a bad relationship, it almost cost you your life. Explain that.

Jason Clark: Well, there was unfortunately that void I wanted to fill with something. And I felt the most connection I could feel with another human was being with other humans. And so I made a lot of really bad relationships top priority in my life. I kind of fell into it.

My picker was broke, I always say. My picker was broke. I would pick the ones that had the alcoholism issues, or the eating disorder issues, or the suicidal issues. But this one was different. She was really crazy. And even though I had no idea at first, she checked off all the boxes. I wanted everything that she had to offer.

I was getting up there in age. This is the last girlfriend that I dated before I got married. I was thinking, I'm in my upper 30s, almost pushing 40, and I'm like, this is my last chance. And she wants, every single box on that list, you know that fake list that we have in the back of our minds of what we want in a mate, and she had them all checked.

I was like, this has to be God. Of course, I didn't ask God. I just kind of assumed, but it turned toxic really quickly. And in fact, it turned violent in a lot of ways, physical violence and mental abuse, emotional abuse.

Sid Roth: You were going through such a tough time, I think you called your father, and he advised you to call the police?

Jason Clark: Yes, it was the only way that I felt safe enough. I mean, I thought it was great that he actually offered to help because we weren't really on good speaking terms at that point in my life, my father and I. But that was the best thing I could have done. And I did. I asked him for help and he told me what to do. He offered me a place to come home to.

Sid Roth: Now, when you came home, you started getting a little help. What happened?

Jason Clark: Well, what happened was I realized that my thinking was really screwed up. The beginning of the process of the healing that took place over that period of time was the fact that I had to make the choice first of all to come to my parents' home. I had to humble myself first in order even to ask for help because I didn't need it. I didn't need my dad ever since I was four years old. I said to myself, I don't need a dad, which I was very wrong.

The next choice was to get on the road and go. And you know what, when I met my dad and Jennifer at their front porch, I wasn't met with what I thought I was going to be met with, which was that "I told you so" statement. It was in the back of my mind. I beat myself up with it even, waiting to hear that.

And you know what? Just like the prodigal story, I was that prodigal. I felt like I had the muck and the mire of the world on me through my decisions that I made, and they looked at me and they embraced me and they helped me turn my life around by just introducing a certain aspect of how to connect with God in their heart and allow Him to take the mess that I'd never heard of. And over a short period of time, God set me free.

Sid Roth: How did you break free?

Jason Clark: By humility and the fear of the Lord, allowing, opening myself up to Him.

Sid Roth: Let me ask you something. I hear this phrase often. What does it mean to you, the fear of the Lord? What does that mean?

Jason Clark: Putting the Lord in the place that He's supposed to be in our lives, right? It's almost being afraid of being away from His presence. What I was shown in that short period of time was how to presence Jesus in my prayer life. And in His presence, you can't stay the same. Transformation.

Sid Roth: Is there a brief way of explaining how the viewers can be in this presence like you were?

Jason Clark: We have an idea as Christians, for the most part in church, where Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit, is just like out there, and you're always praying up. You see people praying and they're like... If we pay attention to His presence in us and we cultivate that experience, we do it often, He almost automatically will fill you with peace to acknowledge to you as a witness that He is there.

A lot of contemplative prayer is like that. You can presence the Lord. There's a lot of big name speakers out there that experience those things, that try to teach it, like John Eldredge and dropping the bucket down and all the different terminology. But our inner man, the way that the Scripture talks about the secret place and our innermost being, if we pay attention to that place in us long enough, transformation will take place.

Sid Roth: When we return, I want you to hear Gwen's journey. Jason was set free, but he bumped into someone that was in a lesbian relationship and he knew it. It's an amazing story. Be right back.

Narrator: Messianic Vision has been creating historic, supernatural, and the most amazingly effective mass Jewish evangelism resources. I must highlight just a few of my favorites. Imagine Times Square, bigger than life Jewish faces on our billboard with a stunning message: "I am Jewish and I believe in Jesus." Estimates are more than 21 million have seen it as they passed by.

I produced a pioneering series of 60-second Jewish evangelism ads proving Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. They aired on Fox News, MSNBC, and Newsmax. These ads were viewed by millions. In the ad, I offered a free digital download of a book God gave me in a dream called "They Thought for Themselves." This book is about Jewish people who discovered Jesus as Messiah. It generated 70,000 visits, including 34,000 from Israel, many of them Jewish, who now believe it's okay to believe in Jesus as Messiah.

Our YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok channels now have nearly 7 million subscribers. Even before the recent Israel-Iran war, God told me to build and install bomb shelters in Israel. We've installed and completed 275 and more are on the way. Together, let's pray for the peace of Jerusalem. You will have heart peace that love Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6). I am so appreciative of your prayers and your generous gifts that help us remain cutting edge. Your gift allows us to pioneer many more God-inspired initiatives to reach Jewish and non-Jewish people all over the world. Call or go to SidRoth.org/give.

Everything looked good from the outside. After all, Gwen was raised in the church. Tell me about yourself.

Gwen Clark: Yes, Sid, I was raised in the church. From the age of five, I could feel His presence. I would be led to pray for people during service and was praying in tongues by age seven. My parents had us in a wonderful church, a good, healthy church that I was raised in, and it was wonderful.

Another thing that started happening at a very early age, at age four, is I had severe kidney issues, which landed me in the hospital very regularly.

Sid Roth: I was in the hospital at a young age, so I know what you're talking about. No fun for a kid.

Gwen Clark: It is not. A very deep spirit of fear instilled in me at a very early age, and I believed lies that carried throughout my life of that vulnerability is weakness and that a need to be strong and independent was going to be my survival. And I carried that with me for a long time.

Sid Roth: Your journey from a lesbian relationship to finding Jesus.

Gwen Clark: Well, a lot transpired between then and finding Jesus. I did end up having surgery around age 12, two surgeries that corrected my physical issues. But the emotional wounds went very deep. And so that led me to, between that and the independent self that I became and kind of isolated, I found myself pregnant and a teen mom at an early age. And I raised my daughter by myself for over a decade.

And then one day at work, I met a new friend. Very shortly after I met her, I started having severe anxiety attacks at night, sleepless nights, and I had never experienced this before. One day I decided to confide in her what was going on with me because I didn't know who to turn to. And she said she understood what I was going through and that she was going to help me through it.

So I was so excited to finally have this friend, find somebody that understood me and I didn't feel lonely walking it out. A few weeks later she told me that she was out of money and wasn't going to have a place to live. And so I invited her to stay with us if she needed to. Very shortly after she moved in, our friendship changed from just being friends to having a sexual relationship. And we lived together for almost four years.

Sid Roth: Coming from a Christian background, you knew it was wrong. Why'd you do it?

Gwen Clark: That it was a lot like Jason's story of that need to be needed. Being broken down, it was not an easy choice, but then once it happened, I just kept thinking I can't go back, you can't undo it, you can't change the decisions that you made. So I made my decision, I got to see it through.

Sid Roth: Okay, at some point you decided to break this relationship up. How'd you do it?

Gwen Clark: Oh, I didn't. The Lord did.

Sid Roth: How?

Gwen Clark: Well, thankfully my husband was obedient to the Lord because I started visiting a new church and he saw me and the Lord said, "I want you to go talk to her."

Jason Clark: I wasn't too happy with the Lord at that point. I wasn't expecting that. The Lord told me, "Go talk to her." And I was like, "Lord, me and you are good. We're fine. I don't want to mess anything else up because I have my experience with my last experience, I got beat." I said, "No, I'm not going to go there, Lord." And He said, "Yes, go talk to her."

And I did. And she went basically, "Ew, no thank you." And I was like, "Okay, thank you, Lord. I'm done now. I did my duty." And then nothing transpired. And then what? He came back maybe a month later and the Lord told me the same thing. And I said, "Okay, but you understand what's going on here, God, right? You understand the relationship and all that stuff's going on. Why would you do this to me?" I never got an answer to that question though. But I said, "I'll do it." And I did. And she finally agreed.

Gwen Clark: We exchanged phone numbers. I thought maybe that would get him from continually approaching me, thinking he needed to re-introduce himself to me. I was like, "Okay, here's my number." And we started texting and I finally agreed to meet for one dinner, our one and only date.

And after that date we texted and talked for about six weeks. And one day I was just standing in the kitchen at work and I was like, "I am happy. Why am I so happy?" And I went home and I was talking to a friend and she was like, "Is there something else that you're feeling other than peace because we're trying to figure this out?"

And I was sitting on my bedroom floor and all of a sudden I'm like, "It's not just peace. When I'm with him, I feel like I'm home." And in that moment the Lord audibly spoke to me and He said, "No, that's me. I'm allowing you to feel what it would feel like to come home to me."

The level of deception that I was under was so strong I didn't even know I was apart from God. I was still in the church, walking the walk, ministering to people. I had no idea how far I was from Him until... deception is what it was. The deception. Because it was like the day I was at work and the joy and the peace... and I went home, the absence of the peace was so much heavier. The scales were off of my eyes and I could start to see clearly. And I was like, "Lord, what are you asking of me?"

And so the next day I called him and I said, "Can I come and talk to you after work?" And I did and I just was like, "I don't understand what's happening, but I think I'm supposed to marry you."

Jason Clark: And I just said, "I already knew." Oh, okay. That same day the Lord spoke to me almost audibly and said that this is the one. And I said, "Oh, okay, well, you know, we got a couple years to date." He said that this is the person that I want you to be with. And the Lord was like, "But I don't want you to date." Because I was thinking two, three years, you know, we can date and then get to know each other.

Gwen Clark: Yeah, we didn't know each other yet.

Jason Clark: So I said to her that, and he was like, "Well, the Lord told me a second thing, we can't date." And I was like, "What does that mean?" He's like, "Pick a date." And we were married in three weeks and three days.

Sid Roth: But what happened when you told your parents you're getting married in three weeks?

Jason Clark: Everybody's minds were blown, to put it nicely. Her mother was extremely disturbed and felt very disrespected. And so we had long conversations afterwards to help patch that up and it took some time. My dad, on my side, was like, "I'm not sure you know what you're doing, but I feel like God is in it, so we'll give you our blessing." And her father did the same when I asked her for her hand.

Gwen Clark: Well, he said he was confused because of the dynamic that was already going on. And you're adding Jason to the mix, what's this new dynamic going to look like? He was like, "I was very confused at first." I didn't have a good record of making good choices leading up to that day for a while, quite a while. So I don't think they were thinking they could trust my decision-making at that moment and that made them kind of fearful of what steps I was taking with my life.

Sid Roth: How long have you two been married now?

Gwen Clark: Almost 12 years.

Sid Roth: How many children do you have?

Gwen Clark: We have four beautiful kids.

Sid Roth: Your story is so unique that only God could have done that. Only God. God has a plan for your life, just as He has for the Clarks. But you have to have experiential knowledge of Him, not just head knowledge, heart knowledge. Repeat after me out loud.

Dear God, I've made many mistakes in my life for which I'm so sorry. I believe the blood of Jesus washes me clean. And now that I'm clean, Jesus, come and live inside of me. I make you my Savior and my Lord. Amen.

I want one of you or both of you to look in the camera and pray for people that are in the same or similar mess that you two were in. Would you do that now?

Gwen Clark: Well, I want to speak to the loved ones, the ones that have a family member or a loved one that is trapped in a toxic relationship, a hurtful relationship that you just desperately want to see free. And I want to encourage you that you can play the most vital part in their breaking free.

I want to tell you what happened to me was I had people that I didn't even know interceding for me. And they prayed and pushed back the powers of darkness from around me so that the veils could be and scales could be removed from my eyes that I could see the truth and receive the truth and be able to make a free-will decision to get out. And you can do that for anyone.

Jason Clark: Yeah. When I was at my worst and I wanted to get out and I couldn't figure out how without the Lord, trying to do it myself, I was at the brink of suicide. I tried to jump out of a moving vehicle after I got punched in the face by this girl that I had no reason being with. But the choices that I had made for myself led me to that point.

I want you to know if there's anybody out there that is just at their wits' end, that think that there's no way out, that they want to destroy their life because they're just too tired of feeling the pain or feeling this sense of being trapped, that there's always a way out and a way forward. We have to just stop, pause, and listen, and listen for that still small voice. Because He's still calling us. The Shepherd is calling us and He has the answer for you. Amen.

Sid Roth: Thank you, Holy Spirit. Go and flow.

About It's Supernatural!

It's Supernatural! deals with subjects that most shy away from in this seeker-sensitive age. It emphasizes the supernatural, biblical viewpoint that the secular networks do not understand. And at the end of each program, host, Sid Roth, tells the viewers how they can have intimacy with God.

About Sid Roth

Sid Roth, host of It's Supernatural! television program, is a Jewish believer in Jesus the Messiah. In 1977 Sid started a ministry called Messianic Vision and a nationally syndicated radio broadcast by the same name (he started the TV program in the 1990's). But the Messianic Vision is more than a ministry or a program; it is a desire to reach out with the good news of the Messiah "to the Jew first" (Romans 1:16). This is not just God's historical order for spreading the gospel, but also His eternal spiritual order. When we follow this "law of evangelism," God opens a supernatural door to reach large numbers of Gentiles (even more than if we had gone to the Gentile first). God's heart is to reach all people. His strategy is "to the Jew first."
