The Holiness of God

July 10, 2021

Did you know that as a believer, you’ve been set apart for a holy God, just as the priests once were in the Hebrew temple?

God’s holiness is one of His most difficult attributes to grasp, because it can seem so foreign and so demanding. In this life, we’ll never attain the perfect purity of the Lord, but He does expect an attitude in our hearts that seeks it. And the closer we come in contact with Him, the more we’ll see the obstacles to purity in ourselves and long to remove them.

In this message, Dr. Stanley explores the stunning holiness of our mighty God as described in Scripture, and inspires us to seek His presence and purify our lives. Don’t miss the incredible experience of intimacy with a holy God.

In “Believers at the Judgment,” Dr. Stanley recognizes the sense of fear and uncertainty we may have at our judgment day. He explains that we, as believers, may misunderstand its purpose, feel guilty about our past, or fear giving a full account of our life at the judgment seat of Christ. Dr. Stanley states that God’s ultimate purpose in the judgment is to bring glory to Himself. In return for those glorifying deeds we have committed on earth, He will determine to what degree our eternal rewards and privileges will further bestow glory and honor to Him in heaven. The purpose of the judgment is not where we spend eternity, but how.

In “The Return of Christ,” Dr. Stanley identifies three primary reasons for His coming back at the end of the tribulation period. The first reason is that He is going to judge the earth. The second is to deliver His elect—those who have responded to the invitation of Christ and have been saved during the tribulation. The third reason is to establish His earthly kingdom for His millennial reign. In this message, Dr. Stanley covers Matthew 24:29-31.

Dr. Stanley explains the character of the false prophet, the difference in authority between the Antichrist and his prophet, and that his ultimate goal is to deceive people into following the Antichrist. In this message, Dr. Stanley covers Revelation 13:11-18.

Tribulations, trials, and persecutions have always been familiar to the body of Christ. Persecution began when the very first miracle occurred. The persecution mentioned in the 24th chapter of Matthew is a precursor of Christ’s return. In “The Great Tribulation,” Dr. Stanley explains how long this tribulation will last, what will happen when it takes place, and who will survive it.

The rainbow is a precious sign from God, a recurring symbol that He has kept His promise to Noah. Today, every time we see one, we're reminded of His faithfulness. That’s one of the most comforting of all God’s attributes. When the Lord says He is faithful, He means He will always do what He says. He is true both to His promises and His warnings. And being convinced of that dependability is a powerful motivator to walk in His ways. This message from Dr. Stanley will deepen your understanding of God’s great faithfulness and show you how truly believing in it will change your life. Accept His forgiveness, trust His Word, and live in victory.
