Our Great Salvation

People naturally talk about what interests them. In many cases, it’s a significant event—perhaps a war, a birth, a tragedy—that changed them, and so they want to share their story with others so they can be prepared for, or avoid, a similar event in their lives.
As a believer, the greatest event in our lives is the moment we receive Christ as our Savior. Why is it, then, we often have difficulty sharing that special story? For some people, it’s because they don’t fully understand what happened at the cross. How could you share a story if you don’t actually know what happened? In this sermon, Dr. Stanley shares four reasons why our salvation stories need to be shared:
1. Salvation is the only answer to man’s sinful, helpless, hopeless situation.
2. Salvation originated in the heart of a holy God.
3. Salvation was motivated by one thing—not our love for God—but His love for us.
4. Salvation changes our nature.
If you have trusted Christ as your savior, the Bible says you are forgiven, redeemed, justified, sanctified, reconciled, and glorified. God applied the redemption of His Son to your life—and that’s something worth talking about!

And because of His justice, He cannot forget His wrath against sin. Keeping this in mind will inspire us to share Christ with those who don't know Him and pray for genuine revival in our world.

The divine authority of all of Revelation is affirmed. John now speaks as a prophet in Jesus’ name. In “Three Finalities of Revelation,” Dr. Stanley describes how John reinforces Christ’s final promise of His imminent return and the rewards He will bring with Him. Then John repeats Christ’s final invitation for everyone to join Him, including every lost person. Finally Jesus warns specifically against tampering with the Word of God. God loved the people of the world enough to sacrifice His Son Jesus. He gave Him up to a hideous death on a cross in order to save all those who would believe from an eternity apart from Him.
Jesus’ death was the ultimate, all-sufficient gift for an unworthy people from a perfect God. There is no greater love than this. It is up to us to embrace it.

In “Satan’s Last Fling,” Dr. Stanley shares with us John’s vision of Jesus giving authority to His angel to bind and imprison Satan in the bottomless pit for a thousand years. During this millennium, Christians will reign on earth with Jesus with unopposed authority. However, sin nature will be passed on to each generation born in the millennium and many will reject Christ. When Satan is released, he will gather up and lead these unbelievers to do final battle at Jerusalem. All will be totally exterminated and Satan will join the beast and false prophet in the lake of fire and brimstone forever. In this message, Dr. Stanley covers Revelation 20:1-10.
