A God of Grace, Part 2

May 17, 2018

God’s goodness and kindness extends to those who do not deserve it and have no possible way to earn it (Eph. 2:8-9). God is a God of grace, and in His Son we see the fullness of that grace. In this message, Dr. Stanley teaches on one of God’s greatest gifts: grace. Because Jesus lived a sinless life as a man, He was able to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. His death on the cross made it possible for us to receive God’s grace. The question now is: What will you do with such a gift?

Have you ever met someone who has heard the gospel clearly and often, yet continually rejects God's appeal? Or maybe a believer who once faithfully attended church and served the Lord but has now drifted away? They may have a hardened heart—one that is resistant, calloused, and insensitive to the Word and the voice of God. Teaching from Exodus 20 and Mark 6, Dr. Stanley explains how a heart can become hardened and shares God's warning concerning the hardened heart.

We all know what constitutes a strong body, but what constitutes a strong life? In this message, Dr. Stanley defines the attributes of a strong life and teaches us how we can use them to defend ourselves from the storms of life. In order to withstand the destruction, we must build up our strength and courage that has already been tested and tried. God has a lesson for us to learn through everything we face if our lives are built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.

Even though God created the family, there are no perfect families. It is very difficult to raise a strong family in today’s culture. It takes hard work and commitment. A strong family is one in which the members are bound together in a pledge of love and devotion to one another. In this message, Dr. Stanley describes the characteristics that define a strong family and teaches us how we can keep solid relationships, even if the family is broken.

The church is not defined by a building, but rather by lives committed to loving God and serving people in His name. In this message, Dr. Stanley describes the many characteristics that make up a strong church and what we can do to contribute to the strength of our own church. Churches must have a vision that extends beyond their doors—spreading the gospel in their communities and around the world.

Dr. Charles F. Stanley was the senior pastor of First Baptist Church Atlanta for more than fifty years.
