A God of Grace - Part 1

December 7, 2020

God’s goodness and kindness extends to those who do not deserve it and have no possible way to earn it (Eph. 2:8-9). God is a God of grace, and in His Son we see the fullness of that grace. In this message, Dr. Stanley teaches on one of God’s greatest gifts: grace. Because Jesus lived a sinless life as a man, He was able to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. His death on the cross made it possible for us to receive God’s grace. The question now is: What will you do with such a gift?

We are all born with a desire to act independently of God. We want what we want, when we want it, the way we want to get it. This rebellious attitude against God is natural and normal to us, and is called “sin.”

One of the primary reasons that people spend so little time praising the Lord is because of a very inadequate understanding of who He is. In this message, Dr. Stanley explains that when we begin to understand how Holy, majestic and mighty God is, we begin to understand how to praise and worship Him.

Thanksgiving is a practice that we cannot afford to discard when the going gets tough. With gratitude comes a whole host of benefits—greater awareness of  His presence, increased trust, joy, decreased anxiety—that energize us when we feel beaten down. Combatting adversity is draining. Refuel with thanksgiving.
