I make a great mistake when I interpret my circumstances as relevant to God's thoughts about me. Our lives will often be marred with sometimes inexplicable suffering and circumstances. There is little good to find; God doesn't seem to care about His own plan! And even though I have done my best, maybe, to honor Him - it seems as though I am under His hand of chastisement.

Herein lies a great principal, what we pursue will determine our quality of life. Jesus did not come to promise us a broad easy path of self pursuit that would lead to our ultimate happiness. He promised us a narrow way that would deposit our lives in limitless possibilities.

It is God's plan and power on display to address mans greatest need, a fractured relationship with God. The meek are strong and courageous. The meek can look the worst enemy in the face with Grace and calmness. He is not protecting his self life, thus he can live with a spiritual reckless abandonment. He is not afraid to be wrong; he is not afraid of righteous confrontation. He stands on truth and is not ashamed of his beliefs.

When God created the human race He did it perfectly. Physically we knew no death, sickness or pain. What we forget however is that we were also psychologically perfect - balanced, with values uncorrupted, right thought patterns; stress and anxiety were nonexistent. The whole human race now needs psychiatric help. Though many may seem self reliant and stable, without God, the best we can do is build strong defense mechanisms around strongholds to reduce fear and vulnerability.
