Before I met Christ I was a different person. I am now a new person in Jesus Christ. His identity becomes my identity. But as a Christian, I still find myself looking into the redemptive mirror and seeing that alter-self and not my new self. My new self was created in the image of Jesus. This new self stands before God without condemnation - blameless. Spotless.

Psalm 29 show us a man (David) who has his relationship with the Lord in line with who the Lord is. He has the Lordship of God in his life - not just for personal needs and preferences. So often our sin or our needs or even our wounds usurp the Lord's majesty in our lives. We must consistently realign ourselves with the Word of God, the Person of Christ and uphold His character and nature.

What do you see when you look into a mirror? Not necessarily the outward image that reflects back at us, but at the image of the inner man, the reflection of the soul. Where do you get your identity? Our identities are often like Fun House mirrors—they are distorted and warped. And the mirrors are more often than not dictated to us, but by people who also have distorted mirrors.
