Pastor John Piper isn’t voting for Donald Trump or Joe Biden for that matter, this election. But King Mannasseh repented. Can we say the same for Donald Trump? Is it appropriate to equate the sins of Joe Biden to the sins of Donald Trump when it comes to their political and personal lives? The principle remains the principle. Is there any fear of God here or there? 

Halloween has turned into a revival of the ancient Day of the Dead. Should Christians celebrate Halloween?  What about All Saints Eve or “Reformation Day”?  Or what about birthdays? Should Christians keep trees in their homes?  Should they hang a pentagram in the living room? How much liberty is allowed the family jurisdiction, and where does the church go too far?  Should the church celebrate Christmas or require the celebration of Christmas for others?  These questions are taken up by thoughtful Christian families, and it is critical that we have consistently biblical answers, especially for our young adult children.

These are extraordinary times for the Catholic Church and the Protestant Church, and the evangelical colleges.  It is the death of the West.  It is the death of the old institutionalized faith in the West, with the exception of a small remnant. The Pope has finally endorsed homosexual “families” and “civil unions.”  The Council on Christian Colleges and Universities has endorsed persecution of Christians, while embracing homosexuality and a polytheistic, pluralist view of ethics. But the greatest horror of it all . . . is the lack of horror among the Christians left.

Let’s not get our eye off the real issue, as we approach the elections. Rod Dreher insists the real problem is not politics. We’ve lost the culture. The cultural pressure is strong to... lie. But, here’s the exhortation . . . Live not by lies. What are the lies we have to push against in the Gramscian culture today? The soft totalitarianism of the day is about to add forced vaccines. How will we navigate these new requirements in the rising 1984’ish state?

Coming into this next election, 61% of Americans are concerned about a second civil war. Americans are buying at a rate of 24,000,000 guns a year, up from 6,000,000 guns per year back in the early 2000s. Since many Christians are jumping on this band wagon, we need to ask the important question... What are the biblical standards for use of fire arms, if we were to draw from Nehemiah 4:14, 1 Samuel 26:9, and Exodus 22:2?  To answer Eric Clapton’s question, you cannot shoot the sheriff or the deputy.

The President of the United States acknowledged Jesus Christ as Lord, or in His words, “the Boss” in a speech he gave on Friday. Trump recognized Jesus Christ as far above principalities and powers (including himself.)  Has God shown mercy to Trump, as he did to King Mannesseh?
