Millennials Leaving Baptist, Going Reformed - Why Reformed Churches Grew

March 13, 2017

Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Churches are saying 50% of the youth have left or are leaving their churches. Now a new study on millennials traces the denominational journeys of the 20-40 year old crowd — the denominations gaining and losing millennials. The biggest losers are Methodists, Catholics, Liberal Presbyterians, and Fundamentalist Baptists, losing anywhere from 38-52% of the young people who attended their churches as children. The greatest denominational gainers are atheists and agnostics. But, the Reformed Presbyterians and Reformed Baptists increased their millennial attendance by 200%, and the Anglicans have increased their millennial interest by 63%. Non-denominational churches increased millennial attendance by 21%. The study conducted by Generations.org surveyed 10,000 millennials, and found that churches most likely to disciple their members and hold them accountable are generally the most likely to grow. We interact with the Gen 2 survey on this edition of the program.

This program includes:

1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Turkey Accelerating the Trial for Missionary, Drought Killing in Muslim Somalia, Only Four Percent of Milennials Holding Biblical Worldview, Wyoming Governor Signs Heartbeat Bill)

After World War II, the average spending as a percentage of GDP under Democratic Presidents was 19.0% and under Republican Presidents was 19.6%. Why? A Republican walks into a restaurant and orders a little less than whatever that Democrat is having over there, and the cook. . .always gives him more. We also compare the generational legacy of the Bush Dynasty and the Kennedy Dynasty with that of the Mayhews and Mathers of the 17th Century. Huge differences in vision. The sins of the fathers curse to the third and fourth generations, but God blesses the generations of those who fear Him. This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Family Research Council Opposes Republican Obamacare Bill, Fox News Knee Deep in Sexual Harassment Scandals, Millennials Flocking to Reformed Churches) 2. The women's march orchestrated a nationwide strike, in which women stayed home from work. This wasn't because they rediscovered the family economy either. Women don't feel they're getting the credit, and their children are not rising up and calling them blessed. We take a look at the wage gap, and conclude that there must be a worldview problem. Why must a person's worth be measured by sheer economics? Where does this materialistic worldview come from? This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes (Wyoming Judge Refuses Homosexual Nuptials, Street Preachers in UK Under Arrest, Employment Numbers Up in February) 2. Generations with Kevin Swanson

Scotland has the most homosexual Parliament in the world; three of the four major parties have homosexual leadership. Scotland wants to assign a social worker to every child born in the country. And now, Scotland is assembling a list of hate crimes leading to arrests of street preachers. And Scotland has the second highest teenage abortion rate in the world. How is it that the nation with the richest Christian heritage sports the most aggressive, virulent apostasy of any nation the world? What gives? We talk with Collin Gunn, a Scottish filmmaker, on the tremendous Christian heritage and the apostasy of this sad nation. This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Christian Pastors Beaten in Vietnam, Persecution up 147% in China Last Year, Texas Lieut. Gov. Stands Against Transgender Bathrooms) 2. Shall the Christian Church respect a marriage of a man and his pet? While this might be a real difficult question for those who respect the Obergefell ruling, we assert that of course the true church will ignore Obergefell. True Christians cannot support a wedding of a man and his dog. But, is this the time for Christian families, Christian churches, and the state governments to ditch the marriage license altogether? Interesting discussion on this edition of the program.  This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Supreme Court Refuses to Rule on Transgender Case, Northern Ireland's Government Moves Left, Christians Still Waiting on Religious Liberty Order from Trump) 2. The Pied Piper took 140 children away from Hamlin in 1384, and either abused them or killed them. Disney has led the pack in the perverting of children, especially over the last ten years. Now, the entertainment business has broken through another moral barrier - offering a homosexual scene in the latest release of Beauty and the Beast. How do the most indescribable evils become the most heart-warming, well-beloved narratives in the modern world. . . even to Christians? This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Trump Intensifies War with ISIS, Family Business Appeals on Homosexual Persecution Case, Indonesian Governor Trial Concerns Christians) 2. The 2017 Academy Award ceremonies smashed through moral barriers that have been in place for over 1500 years last Sunday. Best Picture went to a film meant to prepare young men for homosexuality, and pave the way for pedophilia. The film endears boys to sin, and endears others to boys in this sin. We trace how Hollywood has worked this through a seven-step process that took over 80 years to accomplish 2017 will be remembered as the year that mass culture broke the final moral barriers down, preparing for the end of an era. This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Prayer Vigils at 130 Planned Parenthood Offices, Families Come to Christ in Russia, Disney Breaks Another Moral Barrier) 2. Boys are going through hormonal changes earlier and earlier. They're getting married later and later. And they have way more access to porn. How is that going to work out for twenty million boys? Kevin Swanson interviews Hal and Melanie Young on their new book for Christian families to help their boys through puberty and the single years. This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Obama Gave Billions to Liberal Organizations, Only 10% of Americans Hold Christian Beliefs, Transgendered Target’s Stock Plummets) 2. Is it time to move to the country, and join a church community? The Wall Street Journal reports on Protestant and Catholic church communities that deliberately move to the countryside and get away from the world’s influences. What are the positives and negatives of these attempts to disciple families and individuals away from the hustle and bustle of the cities (and the relentless bombardment of modern secular inputs)? How do evangelism and new discipleship opportunities present themselves when the church isolates itself? This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Cuban Pastor and Wife Arrested for Homeschooling, 24 Canadian Doctors Refuse to Assist in Suicide, Franklin Graham Unhappy With Barbara Bush's Support of Planned Parenthood) 2. Bob Jones University regains its non-profit status after about 30 years. Thankfully, the university cast aside the old “conservative” position that opposed inter-racial marriages. Most states in America rejected God’s laws and banned interracial marriages until 1948. In 1967, the Supreme Court finally declared the laws unconstitutional. But, why do some conservatives unthinkingly hang on to the wrong positions? We discuss the blessings of interracial marriages and the challenges of sinners marrying sinners. This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Four Generations of Bush’s Support Planned Parenthood, Trump’s Budget Goes for $54 Billion Increase, Homosexuality and Fornication Win Big Oscars) 2. Teen Vogue magazine offers some suggestions for salving the consciences of girls who have obtained an abortion. Meanwhile, over 90% of universities in the UK have curtailed free speech for pro-life clubs and other Christian groups. Why is the left (the wicked) so anxious to curtail free speech? Why do homosexuals have to be constantly affirmed in what they are doing? This testifies to the power of the conscience and the power of truth. This program includes: 1. The World View in 5 Minutes with Adam McManus (Trump Speaks to CPAC, Facebook Apologizes to Christian Mommy Blogger, Christian Family Stores Shuts Down) 2. Generations with Kevin Swanson
