A Wrong View of the Resurrection is Catastrophic, Part 2

March 19, 2015
A wrong view of the resurrection is a serious problem. We should not ignore, like the Jews of Jesus's time in spite of having the Scriptures, which revealed the coming of the Messiah, his atonement on the cross and his Resurrection to transform and bless the nations. Interpretation of all the philosophical and religious confusion is the result of Humans desperately seeking knowledge, understanding and wisdom in all the wrong places to solve the problems facing humanity; hence there is constant failure in their attempts.

Who or what is the source of our knowledge? Correctly answering this question is of the utmost importance since everything depends upon it. The value of history gives us a window into past human thought and actions so we can effectively assess what works and what does not. True knowledge is the means to solve all problems with understanding and wisdom on how not to repeat them.

Before the Declaration of Independence, the colonial pulpits were ablaze with the teachings of God’s law; they understood that obedience to God leads to rebellion against tyrants. They understood that the value of life, liberty and property, as protected by God, is revealed in His Word. Secularism is going to be defeated and America has the opportunity to lead the world. If America refuses she will forfeit the call, even so, God will crush secularism in the world.

If God does not exist then man is the only authority in all matters of morality. In a humanistic world, it is man and not God who determines right from wrong and adjusts ethics according to the mood-swings of the times. They have to make up morality instead of discovering it from God Almighty.

American culture is moving in the wrong direction. It is not my assessment; it's history that reveals these facts. Are Christians tired of fighting for the right cause? Are Christians putting up the right kind of fight? Is Christianity irrelevant? Can Christians make the difference in a culture that rejects God's morality?

If God and Jesus say that we are to be perfect like them (Matt. 5:48) and the Apostles reiterated that we are to be perfect, yet some preachers, Bible teachers and even some outspoken Christians say that it is impossible to be perfect this side of heaven, who are we to believe? We should prefer to believe God and Jesus Christ and those who heard these instructions directly from Him. Being Christlike is totally possible; enough with the excuses!

Throughout biblical history, no matter how much time or impacting events, God never changed His perspective of commanding perfection. We see it in the life of Abel, Noah, Abraham and in God's demand of the nation of Israel, and even Jesus Christ reiterated it in His teachings because the requirement of perfection has never changed and will never change.

Being surrounded by evil is no excuse to not be perfect.  Enoch walked faithfully and in righteousness with God, he was very special to His maker. He lived in a period of great wickedness and widespread evil before the flood.  We learn from the biblical account that, for the most part, the population rejected God’s ways. However, Enoch made a choice—to be perfect and one with God.

What was the role of the Scribes in the life of the chosen people of God? How could the people tell the difference between Jesus’ teachings and the Scribes teaching? How does it relate to Christianity from the beginning until now and even after we are long gone?

Matthew 5:48 says "You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." God's Word is the mirror that reflects back to us who we really are. In the mirror of God's Word we will always see our disarray staring back at us. We clearly see the deficiencies that we have to confront intellectually, emotionally and most of all spiritually. However, God always says what he means and means what He says, and His command to us is to be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect.

By nature, man knows there is perfection; the question is, where does this knowing come from? We are created in God's image and likeness, and only through redemption in Christ, through a transformational journey can we begin to understand this perfection. It takes constant diligence in God's Word and its application to all areas of life. Nothing else will accomplish true perfection.

About The Future of America

We want to help restore America's original foundation in biblical Christian principles which made it the most powerful and prosperous nation in the world in a relatively short time but America has not reached it full potential. Ideas have consequences and they are passed on from generation to generation. To eradicate error, the moral and ethical principles of the Bible must be firmly established in the hearts and minds of each individual. If America is going to survive, its citizens must become re-acquainted with its history, heritage and biblical immovable principles and apply them once again to all areas of life. We hope this program will inspire and challenge you so together we can fulfill our responsibility before God and country to make the difference for our generation many generations to come.
