Are You Good? - Part 3

July 17, 2022

Religion often teaches we’re partly good and partly evil. While God forgives us, He’s waiting for us to change and perform better before He truly accepts us. So when we inevitably fall short, it’s easy to believe God sees us as sinful or wicked instead of good.

But believing you’re both good and evil is no way to live the Christian life. God has done something incredible to you at salvation. There’s more than forgiveness and Heaven: He’s made you new!

In this message, we’ll take a look deep inside at the believer’s inner being. It’s a place where there’s no mixture of darkness and light. My hope is you’ll be convinced that you’re now good – not partly good or being made good someday, but good – because God has made you good!

At salvation, we receive God’s forgiveness and are made new in Christ. Yet instead of viewing ourselves as good, it can seem more spiritual to say we’re dirty or sinful, especially when we look at our imperfect performance. Even Jesus said in Luke 18:19, “No one is good except God alone.” But a lot has changed since Jesus uttered those words, and in this message, we’ll learn what the New Testament says about your new heart and who you are at the core of your being. You’ll discover you’re actually good, you don’t really want to sin, and you can enjoy being in perfect union with Jesus today!
