March 28, 2024

Today Pastor Ed Taylor will take us to First Corinthians chapter fifteen, which really focuses on the resurrection. The gospel more than anything in this world lives up to its name!  It truly is good news.  And I think you’d agree good news is desperately needed today in our day of hopelessness and uncertainty!

Pastor Ed will be presenting a study based in Genesis chapter 11.  In this chapter we see an important contrast between self-effort and full surrender.  Have you been trying to build something for yourself.  While you may think it will lead to satisfaction, it really doesn’t.

Is your church going through a building project? Today on Abounding Grace we look back to a building project that represented all the wrong things and was built on the wrong foundation.  It was built in direct disobedience to God. Pastor Ed Taylor will attract our attention to chapter eleven of Genesis which speaks to us about self-effort and full surrender.

Many of us find it interesting to learn a little bit about our history and where we came from.  Maybe as a kid you were given the assignment in school of creating a family tree?  Today we’re going to tell you where you came from… and take you way back!  Your family tree can actually be traced back to Noah’s sons.  So let’s take a look at our origins, in Genesis chapter ten.

Don’t you love it following a rainstorm when a beautiful rainbow appears in the sky?  Maybe you didn’t realize it, but those rainbows are to be a reminder to us that God will never destroy the earth with water again!  That’s a wonderful promise, and today on Abounding Grace we transition from rainbows to shadows!  We’re confronted with a problem that resides in all of us.

As we head into Genesis chapter nine the flood is now over, and it’s time for a new beginning!  Here God is establishing certain institutions like the family, government, and the church!  It’s not hard to see, mankind has drifted away from God’s plan and purpose for these institutions.

Pastor Ed Taylor will be covering Genesis chapter eight today, and at this point in time the worldwide flood is over and it’s about time for Noah, his family and the animals to step out onto dry land. What was the first item on the agenda for Noah?  He worshipped God.  And would a great example that is to us! We’ll also pursue the question, how did Noah find grace in the eyes of the Lord?

Pastor Ed will be in Genesis chapter eight today.  If you’ll recall a worldwide flood has just occurred, and Noah, his family and the animals have been couped up in the Ark for about 190 days.  Now, the waters are receding, and it’s time for them to step out of the Ark onto dry land.  There’s wonderful hope and encouragement to be found in all of this.

Pastor Ed Taylor is in First Corinthians and we’re spending a considerable amount of time in chapter twelve due to its rich content.  Maybe you’ve looked at this chapter, like many, as though it’s just a list of spiritual gifts. But pastor Ed believes these are actually manifestations of the spirit, and he’ll explain the difference as we go along.  So with Bible in hand, let’s set out to understand spiritual gifts, spiritual ministries and the manifestations of the Spirit.
