As my heart becomes more aligned with God's heart, through increased time in praise and His presence, my desires shift to His desires. And I start to see that I already have, or am in the process of unfolding, that which my heart ultimately longs for. And my contentment with the simple and small surrounding me swells.
God is giving us time and opportunities to share His gift with others before it’s too late for them, and Christmas is a perfect time to do so.
We want our adult children to be blessed and enjoy a relationship with God. As their parents, we can intercede for them by praying Scripture over them. God loves them and knows them. We can trust God to keep them close to his heart and give them wisdom through the busy holiday season when so many events and expectations keep them racing.
God is with us, even when nobody else is present. Allow this truth to give your heart joy today.
Intentional living as a couple that prioritizes prayer, connection, and God’s Word empowers us to love each other with Christ’s love even when pressures mount all around us.
When we look at all that God has given us despite what we have done to him, it humbles us. It makes us want to give generously because he gave everything for us.
God's Word doesn't say, "You will not face trials of any kind so long as your life is filled with joy." What it tells us is that we will face trials throughout all of life, and to count it as joy, which will lead to steadfastness.
There is no greater gift you can give someone this season than your spirit-filled, joy-filled, Jesus-filled presence.
One of the best times of the year can also be one of the most difficult. Harvest décor leads into Christmas bells and lights. We fill the calendar slots with parties and events. This can create a low-level hum of anxiety if the upcoming family get-togethers feel like a risky walk through a minefield.
Freely giving of ourselves may seem and feel at times like it’s costing us more than we can afford. But instead, it’s adding up to more than we thought was possible to receive.
