Devotional Archives for Your Daily Prayer

As this year comes to a close and we resolve to improve upon our lives in the next, remember the daily privilege we have as children of God.

Instead of striving for what we think will make us happy, can we embrace the joy God offers us in Christ to sustain us?

My prayer for 2020 is that we refuse to forget where our true freedom comes from.

Jesus didn’t rule like King David with an earthly palace or majestic throne or royal robes conquering enemy nations through a mighty army. Instead, Jesus came in poverty and humility, to reveal a heavenly kingdom and to conquer the curse of sin through his own death.

This Scripture brings comfort and hope to Christians every day. Sadly, it’s also one of the most misunderstood verses in the Bible.

What are some ways we can grieve the loss of our individual dreams, especially when the pain hurts so deeply? Here are three suggestions.

Something God has been teaching me (the hard way!) is that there is no dream that is deeply fulfilling outside of Him.

Sometimes it really is a sacrifice to offer praise and thanks. We’re struggling. We're weary. He changes our hearts. His power, through hearts of gratitude and focused minds on Him, releases the grip our struggles have over us.

Lord, give me wisdom as I study your Word so that I can discern exactly what you have written for me to understand.

May we stand together in unity as believers in Christ, and pray for God to heal our land, and strengthen His people.
