John 15:4-5

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

Jesus wants to be a witness through you!

There is a way of living the life of a witness that is not overwhelming and does not depend on your ability to persuade or convince people to become Christians. It is the way God designed our Christian lives to be.

What is it this way of life that would transform my ability to live as the New Testament describes? It is a relationship with Jesus that focuses on your relationship with him so that his life flows through your life. His witness comes through your witness.

How does Jesus describe our Christian lives when they are not lived this way? “Apart from me you can do nothing.” Do you feel like that pretty much describes your witness for Christ—“nothing”?

But look at the other side of the equation: “Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit!”

Take some time with Jesus now and ask him to teach you this way of life that is constantly inviting him to live through you, to witness through you to the people in your life that need him.
