God Will Be With You

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
Isaiah 43:2

Understand, God will allow our lives to be tested. When Christians are tested, it should reveal their genuine faith in Christ. As believers go through the fire––trials––they will grow to know that nothing is impossible with God. Christians will mature in their faith–– that is the key, their faith in Jesus Christ. Through trials, know that God will strengthen your faith.

Daniel’s friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were placed in a difficult situation were their faith was tested. As Jews, they could worship only Jehovah (Exodus 20:3-5). When King Nebuchadnezzar set up a golden image to worship, they refused to bow down to it. As punishment, they were to be cast into the midst of a burning, fiery furnace (Daniel 3:8-13). King Nebuchadnezzar challenged their faith in their God: “…who is the god who will deliver you from my hands?” (Daniel 3:15)

After Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego declared their confidence and unwavering faith in their God to King Nebuchadnezzar, they were thrown into the furnace(Daniel 3:19-23). Butwho was with them? God! He was with them in the fire. Astonished, King Nebuchadnezzarsaid: “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God”(Daniel 3:25).As servants of the Most High God, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were asked to come out of the fire. God delivered His servants who had placed their trust in Him (Daniel 3:28).

When you go through the fire, God will walk with you in the fire-––that is a sure promise of God. Many times Christians will ask God to get them out of the fire, but it is in the midst of the fire that they are being refined––perfected. Realize that God is trying to teach you to have faith in Him as you walk through the fire.

Fiery trials make golden Christians.
