Glory in Christ Alone

Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient—in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Romans 15:17-19

Paul never boasted about himself. He always glorified Christ for what He had done in his life. Paul was enabled to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. He was even empowered to do signs and wonders by the Spirit; otherwise, he could not have accomplished any of these things. All that he did was in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ. Paul wanted others to understand it was all Christ.

As the Gentiles and Jews watched Paul’s life, they began to see that Jesus Christ was working in and through him. Paul loved the people, both Jew and Gentile. All he wanted to do was give them the Gospel of Jesus Christ so they could be saved and take the Gospel to others.

What has God done in your life in this last year, in the last week, or in your life today? What about tomorrow and the future? How we need to know Him intimately. As each of us surrenders our lives to God, may we humbly say, “Here I am Lord, use my life.” Then people will witness the work God will do in your life. People need to see Jesus in us! They will see God at work, and they can become saved.

Take the time to minister and pray for people. Tell them Jesus can give them joy and peace that passes understanding. We need to be open to the Holy Spirit when people ask us to pray for them. Let them know Jesus is the only solution to their problems. He is the only one who can take them out of their miserable situations. We can then ask them if they would like Jesus Christ to be their Savior. When is the last time you led someone to Jesus Christ?

“We owe God every honor that is in our power to give him. Our everlasting grief lies in giving Him anything less.”
