National Day of Prayer

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14

We are a nation in crisis. There has been a huge shift in our moral and spiritual values; no longer are we a nation governed by God. Many leaders in positions of power have moved away from the Biblical principles that were established by our Founding Fathers. Together, they agreed and wrote in the Constitution:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

America has become a divided country, but in Christ, we are all equal before our Creator (Galatians 3:28). Destructive, liberal powers in our government are creating laws that will bring death instead of Life, suppression instead of Liberty, and unhappiness instead of Happiness.

Death, because of government funded abortions. Suppression, because of the overreach of powers seeking to close or restrict churches, even to the extent of banning worship! The Church is essential! Unhappiness, because under the current administration, Socialism and Communism are on the rise, which will only serve to enslave people, as in China or Russia.

How many Christians voted righteously in this last election? Where is the influence and voice of the Church? Are we shining as lights in the darkness? The Church must not embrace sin, and it must stand against unrighteousness. Pastors are called to preach the Gospel from Genesis to Revelation. In the days ahead, pastors could be arrested for preaching!

If we, as God’s people, turn from our wicked ways, humbly seek the face of God, and continue to pray, then in His mercy, God may hear from heaven and heal our land. Then, perhaps, our America––the land of the free––will indeed remain free.

America! America! God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.
