Faith Made Void

For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.
Romans 4:13-15

Paul taught that Abraham was not justified by the rites of circumcision, neither was he justified by keeping the Law. It was accounted to him for righteousness as he believed in God’s promise by faith. The promise was in reference to Jesus Christ; the essence of this covenant was made with Abraham and his descendants (Genesis 15:1-6). Now all believers in Christ Jesus have become heirs of this very promise. It is given to us for ever and ever! Salvation has come to the Gentiles (Romans 11:11).

Keeping the Law is impossible to do, but receiving the promise of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ, is valuable to us. It is given to us freely by Jesus Christ. Paul once again exposed man’s sinfulness by the Law (Romans 7:7-11; Galatians 3:19,24-25). Sin has been exposed, not only in the Old Testament through the Law, but in the New Testament through the Holy Spirit (John 16:8). He has convicted us and accomplished so much in our lives!

Sometimes Christians forget just how tough it was to worship God in the Old Testament. It took so much work within the priesthood to sacrifice and worship God. Yet now God has made it so simple to worship Him in the New Testament, as He sent His Only Begotten Son to be the sacrifice for our sins. It is so amazing to know who we are in Jesus Christ!

As children of God, we should not rebel and resist God. Each one of us should make sure we are obedient and pleasing to Him. I preach the Gospel to tell you about the love of God. I love you! I know what God has done in my own personal life. I am giving you the Gospel of Jesus Christ so you may know––the just shall live by faith.

Be open to the Holy Spirit so He can do a work in you and through you.

You can be sure, the Holy Spirit never enters a man and lets him live like the world.
