Boasting is Obliterated

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.
Romans 3:27-28

The Jews are not justified by the Law. The Law cannot save anybody. Remember, it is only the schoolmaster to bring people to Christ (Galatians 3:24). Jesus is the only way to salvation––to forgiveness, justification and righteousness––to be in right standing with God (John 14:6). Paul further explained: Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1). Paul continued this thought of faith needed for salvation in Ephesians 2:8-9: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Honestly, people love to boast. Some people boast about how early they get up in the morning to pray. They may boast in the fact they were at an important meeting when many others did not attend. People have a tendency to boast about such things. Think how sinful people are as they love to boast about all the things they do.

Do we hear of Jesus boasting? Never! Who is our model? It is Jesus Christ. As Christians, He is our mirror to look at, and we must reflect Him. As we look at Christ’s character, we should see that there needs to be a lot of improvement in our lives. We are certainly not perfect yet. It is only when we go to be with Jesus that we shall be perfect. When we have our funeral, it is a done deal.

I say salvation is the free gift of God. It is God's free grace, I preach unto you, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Jesus Christ justifies the ungodly. Jesus Christ passed by and saw you polluted with your blood and bid you live.
