Justification of Life

Therefore, as through one man’s [first Adam] offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s [second Adam] righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s [first Adam] disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s [second Adam] obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:18-19

Paul explained further about the first and second Adam so that people could understand we are all born sinners––sin is universal. As a child comes out of the womb and takes its very first breath––that child is born in sin––it is just the way it is. The Scriptures tell us this truth: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

Paul wanted to get the point of original sin across to people: Adam’s sinful disobedience effected the entire world in which we now live. Sin brought death to everyone, but Jesus Christ delivered us from sin. Even though mankind stands guilty in sin, because of the blood of Christ, through repentance many people are forgiven, resulting in the justification of life.

Paul spoke of the proof of God’s love. It is seen through Christ’s righteous act––His obedience in dying on the Cross for our sins while we were yet sinners. Through Christ’s obedient sacrifice, many sinners have been made righteous before God. Christians have access to God, and power over sin. They are no longer guilty; they have peace with God. The Holy Spirit is the seal of God’s love. Christians have the assurance of salvation–– eternal life. Nothing can separate us from God’s love (Romans 8:39). It is a special, unconditional love. Enjoy His love––fully and completely.

Do you know how privileged we are as God’s children? God is our Father and Friend. We are a part of His Kingdom! The greatest gift was given to us––Jesus our Savior. This is a beautiful time of peace. The Holy Spirit comforts and assist us. Imagine how rich and blessed we are in Christ!

Saving faith is an immediate relation to Christ, accepting, receiving, resting upon Him alone, for justification, sanctification, and eternal life by virtue of God's grace.
