The Called of God

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Romans 8:29-30

Paul addressed the doctrine of predestination. The word predestine means, “To mark out, appoint or to determine before-hand.” It was God’s choice that you have become a child of His salvation––freely. However, God, in His foreknowledge, already knew who would be His. He knew who would come to Christ. He knew each one of us by name. He is God! Everyone has been called by God, but we have the freedom of choice to reject or accept God’s salvation. He is …not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, and through repentance, the effectual call of God has made us His elect. He has brought us to salvation. When we respond to His call by faith, we are quickened by His Holy Spirit, “made alive,” and become justified by our faith in Jesus Christ. Those who have chosen to accept Christ as Savior are justified, sanctified and glorified by God. Christians shall share His glory in things not yet seen!

Many people in the world have rejected Jesus, but for those of us who have chosen Jesus as Lord and Savior, we know that we have not only been chosen by God, but we have chosen Him. Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the One who has set us free! We can enjoy being in fellowship with Jesus every day by praying, reading the Word of God, and by witnessing to others––all these things.

Love Jesus with all of your heart. You have so much to be thankful for. There is the hope of your deliverance! You are at liberty to worship the Lord! Your name has been written in the Book of Life (Revelation 21:27). God’s salvation is the ground of your great hope. You must eagerly wait for Jesus with patience––waiting for Him to come. It will be so glorious to finally meet Him face to face!

No one was ever called by God to greater suffering than God’s only Begotten Son.
