Redemption

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
Romans 8:22-23

The entire creation groans because of sin in the world. It is not a perfect world! It is a sinful world where there is famine, pestilence, pain and death. That is also why we groan within ourselves. However, in heaven, there are no more tears, no more sorrows, no more death (Revelation 21:4). Imagine, we shall never grow old in heaven; we shall be there forever and ever with God in eternity.

The Apostle Paul spoke of the redemption of our bodies. He reminds us that the Rapture is coming when the Lord will return for His Church. It could be that you may die physically before the Rapture happens and be with the Lord. Those taken in the Rapture will never experience death. The instant they leave this world, they shall stand in the presence of God with their new bodies. The Rapture could happen at any moment:

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord (1Thessalonians 4:16-17).

The condition of this world gives us true concern. We pray, “Lord please take us home!” We should be thinking about eternity. Yet there are people who are not conscious of eternity. They do not really think about it, but eternity could come for so many people who are just not ready. Are you ready for eternity?

Christ is the Son of God who died for the redemption of sinners and resurrected after three days. This is the greatest truth in the universe. I die because of my belief in Christ.
