Glorious Liberty

For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Romans 8:19-21

The whole creation is cursed because of sin––Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3). So here we are, fallen mankind; everyone is born into sin––we are sinners! Yet God has given us a second chance by making a way for salvation (John 3:16). God created man for Himself, but He gave man the capacity of choice––that is key. Consider this, we can all choose what we want to do. We can make a choice to sin or not to sin––to go to heaven or hell.

In this fallen world, everything is corrupted. There is vanity of life, bondage to sin, decay, pain, and eventually we die. The cell structure of our bodies breaks down, and we grow old––wrinkled, with grey hair. That is just nature. Yet as a child of God, one day our bodies will be delivered––glorified––a new, incredible body coming (1 Corinthians 15:35-49).

Look at this corrupted world and what is happening today. We are not above what is happening in the world. We are in the world, and it is getting harder to live in this life. Imagine, we could be paying about $35.00 for a loaf of bread! The stock market could go down the tubes. How are we going to survive? Do not trust in your bank account, in gold and silver. It might not be there. Instead, trust in the Lord––bottom line.

One day this corrupt world will come to an end. Then God is going to create a new world. It is coming! All we have to do is be patient and wait on the Lord because He has already promised it to us (2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 21:1).

When a man is saved by divine grace, he is not wholly cleansed from the corruption of his heart. When we believe in Jesus Christ all our sins are pardoned; yet the power of sin, albeit that it is weakened and kept under by dominion of the new-born nature which God doth infuse into our souls, doth not cease, but still tarrieth in us, and will do so to our dying day.
~C. H. Spurgeon~
