JESUS CHRIST

Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!” Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?” But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
Matthew 27:22-23

God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for the sins of the world (John 3:16). He submitted to His Father’s will in the Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:42). When Jesus came and began His ministry, the Pharisees, the scribes and Sadducees had nothing but hate for Him. Jesus did good works. He preached, taught, healed the blind and the leper, and raised people from the dead. Jesus never hurt anybody. He poured out His love toward humanity. Yet people poured out their hate towards Jesus Christ. He loved His enemies and even gave those who hated Him the opportunity for eternal life!

The governor, Pilate was trying to get out of this difficult situation. He knew Jesus was innocent and a just person. He asked the multitudes, “Do you want me to release Barabbas a notorious murderer (Luke 23:19), or Jesus, the One who has brought peace to mankind?” The Pharisees and other religious leaders incited the crowds so they agreed––all with one voice. The multitudes asked for Barabbas. Yielding to their demands, Pilate then asked them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ? In agreement they all said, “Let Him be crucified!” (Matthew 27:15-22)

Jesus, the One who is full of love, grace and mercy was willing to die for you and me! He loved us! Understand, we serve a God who is real––a Savior who can save you, a Healer who can heal you. If Jesus had not died on the Cross for our sins, we would be lost eternally––forever.

Jesus Christ became incarnate for one purpose ––to make a way back to God that man might stand before Him as He was created to do, the friend and lover of God himself.
