The LORD Saves!

Likewise all the men of Israel who had hidden in the mountains of Ephraim, when they heard that the Philistines fled, they also followed hard after them in the battle. So the Lord saved Israel that day, and the battle shifted to Beth Aven.
1 Samuel 14:22-23

Remember the many men of Israel who had originally fled from the multitudes of Philistines gathered for war against them? They were hiding as cowards––fearful––like dogs with their tails between their legs. Yet on hearing the great commotion, these men came out of their hiding places from within the clefts of the rocks and joined Israel in the pursuit of their enemies.

God had used Jonathan and his armorbearer to begin the fight against the Philistines. He placed on Jonathan’s heart to attack the Philistine garrison. As they went by faith, trusting in God, the Lord intervened. He shook the ground, and an earthquake caused great confusion in the Philistine camp, and, in the end, God saved Israel.

What has the Lord saved you from personally? Review these Scriptures and thank the Lord for what He has saved you from:

For You have delivered my soul from death, indeed my feet from stumbling, so that I may walk before God In the light of the living (Psalm 56:13 NASB).

For Your lovingkindness toward me is great, and You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol (Psalm 86:13 NASB).

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son (Colossians 1:13 NASB).

Salvation is an act of God. It is initiated by God, wrought by God, and sustained by God.
