Build Your Life on the Rock
“Therefore whosoever hears these saying of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”
Matthew 7:24-25
Jesus spoke about having the right foundation in life. People can come to church and hear the Word of God, but it is only when those things are applied, that a person becomes wise. They are building their lives on a good foundation–– on the Rock. Who is the Rock? Jesus Christ!
Jesus taught the end result of those people who chose to build their house on the Rock—on Jesus Christ. When trials, problems and temptations came upon their lives, they faced them by standing on biblical principles. They stood solid as a rock, and they did not fall away.
Think about people who have experienced an earthquake. When they purchase their property, they want to make sure their home is built on a solid foundation. They will check the ground to make sure their home can withstand an earthquake, a flood or any other calamity.
Your life has a good foundation when it is founded upon Christ! As He is the Rock of your foundation, nothing will remove you from your steadfastness. No matter what you are going through, God will sustain you. You already know your life will be alright tomorrow after the storm.
