I Never Knew You!

“Many will say to me [Jesus] in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!’ ”
Matthew 7:22-23

Jesus gave such a strict warning. Many people will not make it into the Kingdom of God; they will perish. It is not the many, but only the few who will make it into heaven.

Jesus knew that many religious people who even exercised the gift of prophesy, cast out demons, and performed miracles would not make it into heaven. Why? Even though they had done all these things, because they practiced sin, Jesus would say in judgment, “I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice lawlessness!”

Notice the problem¬¬—they practiced sin! These people never had changed lives. I believe they were never in the kingdom to begin with! Understand, there are people who think they are going to heaven, but they are not. They will never be received into the kingdom of light. Consider this Scripture and ask yourself where you stand:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of god (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

Are you practicing a life of sin? We are not guaranteed tomorrow; turn from your sin before it is too late. If you repent, God will forgive and cleanse you of your sin. He will sanctify and justify you in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 6:11)

You call me master and obey me not, you call me light and see me not… if I condemn you blame me not.
