A Christian’s Wealth

To me, [Paul] who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ....
Ephesians 3:8

The Apostle Paul wrote such an incredible letter about a believer’s position in Christ. I believe with all my heart, Christians will grow tremendously if they continue to daily study the book of Ephesians. The Holy Spirit will quicken these important lessons to each one of us individually, because it is such good, spiritual food to our souls.

In the book of Ephesians, Paul preached the unsearchable riches of Christ. He helps us to know just how rich we are in Christ. Sadly, there are some Christians who do not know how wealthy they are! Seriously, you may not have a big savings account, but remember, you are rich in Jesus Christ!

Hetty Green was a woman who went down in history as the richest woman in America during the Gilded Age. In the Guinness Book of Records, she is recorded as the greatest miser. She left an estate valued at a $100 million dollars. She ate cold oatmeal because it cost too much money to heat. In fact, she never turned on the heat or used hot water. Although she was rich, she lived as a pauper. Hetty refused to take her son to the doctors. His leg was infected. He had to have his leg amputated because his mother, looking for a free clinic, delayed treatment. Perhaps she was crazy, but that remained unproved. She certainly was eccentric––and so foolish. In 1916, after arguing with a maid over the virtues of skimmed milk, she died of apoplexy (now known today as a stroke).

Understand, Christians have a limitless amount of spiritual wealth at their disposal, but many live like Hetty Green––live as paupers.

Lord, You have made me a spiritual billionaire. May I so live.
