Entering the Kingdom of Heaven
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven.”
Mathew 7:21
Jesus spoke truth, plain and simple, to all those who had gathered to Him. Not everyone who called Him Lord would enter into heaven. There will be some people who say, “Lord, Lord,” but Jesus will declare He never knew them. They will never make it to heaven, because their lives never matched up to what the Bible taught. It will make the difference. A true Christian walks in obedience to God’s Word, and they do the will of God.
There are those who profess Christianity, and they may say all the right things, but they go about their lives in the wrong way. Sin is keeping them out of the kingdom of God. People can be very sincere in what they believe, but be completely wrong.
People who speak religious words but fail to do the will of God are self-deceived. They must receive this warning! There is no real security to enter into the kingdom of God unless they have truly accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, and they abide in His love (John 15). The guidelines on how to follow Jesus are in the Bible. The Word of God instructs us what to do and what not to do. We know in our hearts when we are going to do something wrong––the Holy Spirit convicts us!
Imagine how very tragic it is to see people who were raised in a Christian home and have grown up in the church, but because they have chosen not to receive Christ and obey the Word of God, they could die in their sins without God if they do not repent.
Take a good examination of your life. Have you truly been born again of God’s Spirit, or are you just a religious person? Are you truly doing the will of God? You have to do the will of God, or you will not enter into the Kingdom of God.
Christ will be Lord, or He will be Judge. Every man must decide whether he will take Him as Lord now, or face Him as Judge then.
