The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. (Genesis 1:2a)
Creation out of nothing—the act takes us above and beyond the theater of nature to the Author of nature and His creation out of nothing. God did not create because He was lonely. Nor did He create because He was incomplete. Creation was a result of God’s love. He created for the purpose of His glory and the good of man. God didn’t take eternal stuff and create from its material. God did something that has never been done: He created out of nothing.
