For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. . .

(Ephesians 2:10)

The word “workmanship,” translated from the Greek word poiema, from which we derive our English word “poem,” was used for a finished product, especially a work of art, such as a painting, a sculpture, or a piece of literature. You are indeed God’s masterpiece. You are filled with the rhythm of God’s grace, the vibrations of His mercy, and the vibrato of His riches. Although you are not saved by works, now that you are the poem of God, you are meant to do good works for His glory.
