Defective Bioethics

My daughter, Megan, is taking a bioethics class. On her first day, the teacher informed the students she was not allowed to teach right or wrong. Instead, she would encourage dialogue, leaving it up to each student to decide what they believe to be true.

Although I applaud examining both sides of the arguments, it frightens me to think we are not training our medical professionals to understand that there are objective truths.

Proverbs 14:12 teaches, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."

Unfortunately, with so many new and challenging ethical issues to face, such as embryonic stem cell research and cloning, our future health may well be in the hands of people who believe their way is right, but it isn't.
