Hiding in the Baggage

The prophet Samuel was told by God to appoint Saul as King over Israel. When Saul was told this fact he immediately challenged this decision. Saul informed Samuel that he was the least of the smallest tribe of Benjamin, and didn’t feel worthy of becoming king.
Later, when Samuel announces Saul as king, no one could find Saul. They inquired of the Lord, asking if Saul had arrived yet. The wording of God’s response in 1 Samuel 10:22 is telling. “And the Lord said, ‘Yes, he has hidden himself among the baggage.’”
Saul was hiding in his baggage both figuratively and literally. His real “baggage” was his lack of confidence in his worth and his abilities.
Has God called you to something significant, but you’re still hiding in your baggage?
