Abiding Above Despair [Part 7]
2 Corinthians 4:16-18– “16 Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
Joseph could not see eternally what God was going to do with him. All he could see was what was happening to him moment-by-moment in time. God could see what He intended to do with Joseph and God could see what he was going through Joseph here on earth at the same time. All the while God’s presence was with Joseph and He had a perfect plan for his life. What seemed to be hard was really going to turn out for something that was going to be very, very good. So in our times of despair, we can see better because these times make us look to God alone for answers. Have you ever noticed that when you are going through a hard time that you pay closer attention to God?
