God’s Old Testament people could rely upon a promise that God made to Abraham. Think with me. In the New Testament God hasn’t jettisoned the ultimate fulfillment of that old promise, but he has developed the promise in a deeper way, in a much broader scope and that’s where you and I come in. You see, we have been given the title deed, not to a piece of real estate nestled at the eastern end of the Mediterranean Sea. We have received the title deed to heaven. What’s the covenant that God has made with us? What’s the blood that’s been shed? The book of Hebrews chapter 12 said, "We have a better covenant because our covenant is not sealed with the blood of animals, but it is sealed with the fact that God gave his Son and he shed his blood for us."
