Greener Pastures
by Berni Dymet

Mark 10:9 Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.

Marriage is one of the most precious of all human relationships. Husband and wife deliberately set themselves apart - to be faithful to one another.

And that's exactly what God intended. Now you and I know that marriage - well, some days, marriage, it's hard. And that's part of God's plan too - as we learn that love means you don't have to win.

But sometimes, husband and wife become disillusioned with one another. And the temptation is…..for the eye to wander to greener pastures.

Jesus said of marriage - "What God has joined together, let no one tear apart." Moving to those so called "greener pastures" requires a tearing apart - and believe you me, that involves a pain and a loss that words cannot describe - only to discover that the grass isn't greener on the other side.

I look at my wife Jacqui - and yeah we disagree some days - but I have this overwhelming desire to grow old with her. And that's exactly what God intended.

So many things in this world promise so much … and yet, so often, they fail to deliver. God’s promises, on the other hand, never fail. Well … we know that in theory and yet, too many of those who believe in Jesus, somehow don’t quite seem to manage to lay hold of God’s promises in practice. How exactly do you live in the promises of God? Well, that’s what our latest Life Application Booklet is all about: It’s Time to Take the Promised Land.
