Understanding The Times, Part 3

Welcome to Sound Doctrine with Jeff Johnson Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Downey. Today, we pick up with Pastor Jeff as he is talking abou the return of Christ from second Peter chapter three. Today is New Years Eve, and as we close Two Thousand and Fifteen, its important that we have an understanding for what's ahead in Two Thound and Sixteen. The HOly Spirit gave us His Word so we would know when to expect His coming and what to look for. Pastor Jeff gives us the conclusion to his message called, "Understanding the Times."

This is just a fancy word for study of the end times. But, as Christians we are exhorted to study the bible so we can know and discern the times we are living in. This is to give us hope, not fear. Thanks for joining Sound Doctrine on this Special Holiday series, with Pastor Jeff Johnson. As 2015 comes to a close, you might be asking yourself, “What is going to happen in 2016?” Well the bible has a lot to say about the future and the final days before the coming of Christ. As Christians we shouldn’t fear the end times, but we should be busy about our Fathers business telling people about Jesus. Pastor Jeff begins a New Years study called, “Understanding The Times.”

We will learn from the Apostle Paul and Pastor Jeff today, that grace was expensive! The Father paid for it by way of the Son, Jesus Christ. A very merry Christmas from all of us here at Sound Doctrine. We all have song the old Christmas sungs and hymn such as Joy to The World. But where is the joy, where is the peace, where is the goodwill towards man? Well today on this Christmas edition of SD, Pastor Jeff will teach us that, the only way we can experience peace in our life, is by accepting the greatest gift of all, Jesus Christ. Then we will experience true peace and joy in our life. Stay tuned for the second half of “The Christmas Song.”

It’s a Christmas edition of SD with Pastor Jeff Johnson of CCD. Christmas comes early for some as they begin to play the holiday music in their cars and homes before thanksgiving! But not everyone welcomes the joyful sounds of Christmas music. Although its roots may not be as simple as that. Some have chosen to boycott this day because it was not founded biblically. But Pastor Jeff will show us that, although the world abuses it commercially, the church can redeem it. There is a saying that says, “Truth is so obscure in these times, and falsehood so established, that, unless we love the truth, we cannot know it.” Well, the Apostle Paul wanted the church to know the truth because it sets us free. We join pastor Jeff in Romans chapter 1 as he is sharing what the Gospel is all about. Don’t go away the “Roman Revival continues.”

Thanks for joining us on SD with Pastor Jeff Johnson. The Apostle Paul wrote to a group of Christians living in Rome and we have today what’s called the book of Romans. The purpose of this letter was to give the church in Rome a proper understanding of the Gospel of God. The church today still need the truths found in Romans. Pastor Jeff is teaching from chapter 1 beginning at verse 2 in a continuation of the Apostle Paul’s introduction in a study called, “Roman Revival Continues.”
