When life goes sideways, gratitude is often the first thing to go. With the wrong perspective, lean finances, a lost job, or a painful illness can rob us of our joy. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez encourages us to take our eyes off our circumstances and place them where we can find real hope. Looking for something to be thankful for? We’re studying 1 Corinthians 11 today. It’s a message Mike Fabarez has titled, "The Thankful Focus of a Healthy Church."

Sitting in church, it’s tempting to evaluate the songs, the sermon, or the service by how they fit our personal needs. While we should expect to grow and benefit from a healthy church, our personal preferences take a back seat to what matters the most. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez challenges a “me” mentality in worship. Instead of focusing on what we want, church should be about turning our attentions toward God!

Sometimes the cultural attitudes around us can distort our self-image like a funhouse mirror. The image reflected back to us looks warped and misshapen. But in the mirror of God’s Word, we can see our true potential and purpose! Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez presents the final portion of a study called, "Your Gender Matters to God." We’ve learned that who we are as a man or a woman is a crucial part of our identity.

Ask any wife or mother, and she’ll quickly assure you that her job is far from easy. The task of juggling careers, motherhood, and a host of other jobs and responsibilities can be downright exhausting! Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez encourages women to stop trying to perform according to our culture’s expectations, and find comfort and peace in God’s design. We’re picking up where we left off in the message, "What God Expects from Women."

If we carefully follow the instructions of a paint-by-number art project, chances are the finished portrait will turn out beautifully. But if we choose to wander outside the lines, we’ll wind up with a muddled mess! Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez explains God’s instructions on gender roles. When we courageously follow God’s design for men and women we create an inspiring picture that reflects God’s glory. Today we’re focusing on "What God Expects from Women."

Good role models are few and far between. In a culture where gender roles are getting more and more confused, it’s harder than ever to find examples we can look up to. For men who long to honor God with their lives, how do we develop godly qualities? Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez explores the biblical definition of masculinity. We’re picking up where we left off yesterday in a study titled, "What God Expects From Men."

It’s hard enough figuring out members of the opposite sex, but these days our culture makes the task even more difficult! Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez approaches the topic of gender with biblical wisdom from 1 Corinthians. We’ll discover the unique plan and purpose God has for both women and men.

On a carefully wrapped present, there’s always a note attached that states who the gift is for and who it’s from. Among other things, this little label lets us know where we should direct our thanks. Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez encourages us to look at the many blessings in our lives and acknowledge where they came from. We’re in 1 Corinthians 10-11. It’s part of a mini series called, "Nice Guys Finish First."

When confronted with difficult decisions, we all ask ourselves common questions like, Is this a good choice for me? Will this help me accomplish my goals? Today on Focal Point, Mike Fabarez urges us to ask a rather uncommon question before we make our next commitment. We’re making our way through 1 Corinthians 10. It’s here we learn about the importance of thoughtfully considering others when we make choices in life.
