Throughout history humans have worshipped personalities of most Kings, Princes and Emperors. Some of them claimed to be divine rulers and people accepted them as such. In a lesser way people worship personalities in the world of entertainment, media, sports, science, economics, academics and just about any field of human development. Religious leaders also demand a share of that worship so Christianity has not been immune to that virus.

Since the early 20th-century with the advancement of photography, audio recording, film industry and public education, these technologies have been effectively used in advertising and marketing to promote the worship of personalities. Political leaders have tapped into all available means to project themselves as great individuals that society cannot do without. If we look at the past century we will find how personalities were worshiped to the level of a cult.

Let me remind you of some of those 20th-century political leaders: Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Mao Zedong, Josip Broz Tito, Nicolae Ceauşescu, Ferdinand Marcos, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Il-Sung, Ayatollah Khomeini, Kim Jong-Il and Fidel Castro. I’m sure you know of a few more. What all these dictators with a totalitarian system of government have in common is the worship of their personalities. They also have a common vision to change their societies with new ideas that project themselves as the only ones that can bring a better future or create a paradise for their society.

When these leaders arrived at the peak of their popularity they projected themselves as infallible gods. Their images could be found everywhere from homes to public buildings, artists always praised them and writers only wrote things that glorified their leader, of course, most of them were forced to do it or else.

America has not been the exception to personality worship, here too individuals are raised to the level of “stars,” and of course this has included political leaders throughout decades. What America has not witnessed in the past is the high degree of worship in the political field as we are witnessing with Obama who has truly become a rising phenomenon and is experiencing personality worship.

Consider the videos that began circulating clearly showing how children in some public schools are being indoctrinated in the cult of Obama-worship. Such is the case of second graders in New Jersey who were singing praises and loyalty to Obama. They used the lyrics of "Jesus Loves the Little Children" replacing the name of Jesus for that of Obama. You can listen to the words "He said red, yellow, black, or white/All are equal in his sight/Barack Hussein Obama."

These second graders were also taught another song exalting the personality of Obama, to the melody of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Pay attention to some of the lyrics: "Mr. President we honor you today! For all your great accomplishments, we all doth say 'hooray.'/Hooray, Mr. President! You're number one!/Hooray Mr. President, we're really proud of you!/So continue, Mr. President, we know you'll do the trick/So here's a hearty hip hooray, Hip, hip hooray!"

The video has conveniently been removed from YouTube after exposure on some of the conservative news media channels. But wait, who is responsible for teaching the children songs of indoctrination to worship Obama? In New Jersey the songs were first taught at B. Bernice Young Elementary School supposedly to celebrate Black History Month this past February. The video was produced in June to celebrate Father’s Day as a tribute to Obama. Did the parents know about this indoctrination? No, they learned about it when the video appeared on the Internet.

There is another video prepared to indoctrinate children in public schools, the "I pledge" Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher's I Pledge Video. At the moment of writing this editorial this was on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRrdmZwdW-c The video was shown in Utah in August. Do not call me paranoid, as a student of history with a special focus on how empires and nations rise to greatness I cannot overlook the habit patterns of those totalitarian leaders in the 20th Century I mentioned earlier. They all used this very effective type of propaganda.

Another point to notice is that Obama’s Marxist ideology is now so evident that people are beginning to understand what he meant by his speech comment “remaking of America.” Who is to say he doesn’t see himself as a savior not only of America but also of the world? In his self-worship speech to the United Nations he said: “humbled by the responsibility the American people have placed upon me… I am well aware of the expectations that accompany my presidency around the world.” He honestly believes the world is looking to him for hope. Even after his failures since he became president, he still considers himself the anointed one, redeemer of the world; talk about deception!

If America does not do an about-face it will continue to reap a whirlwind; Obama is clear evidence of how far the nation has drifted from her original ethical foundation. Christian America bears the greater responsibility for the condition of the nation and to a certain degree, the world. What makes me affirm such a thing? Well, let us go back and listen to the words spoken in 1650, by Governor William Bradford stated in at Plymouth Plantation in relation to those who crossed the Atlantic and the vision they brought with them:

“Last and not least, they cherished a great hope and inward zeal of laying good foundations, or at least making some ways toward it, for the propagation and advance of the gospel of the kingdom of Christ in the remote parts of the world, even though they should be but stepping stones to others in the performance of so great a work…. Thus out of small beginnings greater things have been produced by His hand that made all things of nothing, and gives being to all things that are; and, as one small candle may light a thousand, so the light here kindled hath shone unto many, yea in some sort to our whole nation; let the glorious name of Jehovah have all the praise.”

Christian America, remember the Commandments of the Lord and stop worshiping the cult of personality at all levels and in all places; this includes those who bear the name of Christian leaders:

“You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments” (Exodus 20:3-6).

God is not joking, beware!
