Stuart and Jill Briscoe

The Counselor, Part 2

October 2, 2020

Can God revive the believer and animate the moral corpse of the unbeliever? In other words, “Can these bones live?” Ezekiel had a vision and a mission that can be ours. What God is looking for is a “blessing bone.”

The Bible, in both the Old Testament and New Testament, overflows with images of the Water of Life: storms and rain; streams in the desert; springs and wells; rivers, waterfalls, and watersheds; and the gentle dew of heaven. Water is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

Dependent isn’t an adjective most people would want to use to describe themselves. Rather, we would like to be independent, in control. Paul writes about being dependent on Christ as a wonderful and necessary thing for Christian living. It is a privilege! In this message, Pete Briscoe teaches us how dependence on God is a beautiful part of the dance, as we let the Spirit guide us through daily living.

It’s easy to place your faith in people, parties, and programs. But it’s impossible for all those things to sustain and uphold your heart. When patience wears thin and genuine hope is all you long for, the “who” of faith matters greatly. And there’s no better Who than the Lord, our God. In this message, Stuart Briscoe opens Scripture to reveal the character of our promise-keeping God. He is true, He is faithful—and there’s no better place for your faith to be than in Him.

Have you ever been gripped by fear and wondered if God could ever change His mind about you? In our world, people change their minds all the time, and the consequences are often catastrophic—abandoned marriages, broken hearts, and destroyed finances. So, what if God changed His mind and broke His promise about Jesus being the only way to the Father? In this message, Pete Briscoe takes a detailed look at the ultimate promise of God woven through His Word in the Bible.

In a world of screens and social media, nearness is increasingly uncommon. Yes, we’re more connected than ever before, but comments and video calls haven’t helped our loneliness—doing little to bring us comfort. So where do we turn when the whole world feels distant? In this message, Stuart Briscoe draws your attention to God’s precious promises in Psalm 23. As your strong and steady Shepherd, God is intimately present in your life. He is near—always leading to you to pastures of comfort and peace.

When man makes promises, he rarely follows through. God, on the other hand, can make promises the size of eternity, and He always follows through! God promised David that He would give him a throne that would never pass away. God promised to bring a new covenant to His people through David’s line, a covenant that would bring an eternity where there are no broken promises. In this message, we learn of God’s faithfulness in His grand promises. We can trust His promises because they are based on His unfailing love!
