Queen of Your Children's Hearts

January 6, 2021

Most mothers want their children to "arise and call her blessed." But in today's culture, it's increasingly difficult to raise godly kids. How and when should you talk to your children about God?

In this message, Jill offers a map to finding God's idea of family, gives practical ways of explaining biblical concepts to children, and shows how important a role a mother plays in her children's spiritual lives.

In 2 Kings 4, there's a story about a widow who has run out of options on how to pay her creditors. She's facing the real possibility that she will lose both of her young sons to slavery, as a means of paying her debt. This desperate woman is out of money, out of hope, and out of faith. She's angry at God for the situation she's facing with seemingly no way out. Have you ever felt that way?  How do you find peace when your faith is completely out of focus? When the sheer weight of the moment has blinded you to the Holy Spirit at work on your behalf? Jill's message will remind you that God is sufficient. And you have all you need when you have all of Him in all you.

When we are bogged down with feelings of inadequacy, or when we are burdened by expectations, it's a great time to pray. But sometimes it can be hard for us to know what to pray or even how to pray. In this message, Jill walks us through the Old Testament prayer process that was followed within the temple and compares it to New Testament times to help us understand the importance of prayer and learn how to deepen our prayer life.

Keturah didn't know it, but when she hid in her family's stable that dark, star-filled night, she was in for a big surprise! Regularly cast aside because of her crippled hands, God had carefully chosen this young, Hebrew girl to be part of His miraculous entrance into the world! The Innkeeper's Daughter is a tender, whimsical story that gives you a glimpse of what might have happened in the stable on the night Jesus was born. Written and narrated by Jill Briscoe, children and adults will be captivated by her vivid descriptions of the stable and the many unusual visitors who came. Follow little Keturah inside the cramped, smelly barn and see what she saw – talking animals, chubby angels, regal wise men, and ultimately, the King of Kings, whose coming wasn't the only miracle that night. Enjoy this audio recording of Jill Briscoe reading from her children's book, The Innkeeper's Daughter.
