Fitting Our Feet

January 14, 2019

It's been said that we spend just 25 minutes each day in actual conversation. The rest is non-verbal communication, or body language! Crossed arms, a smirk, tapping feet, leaning in, or looking away. It's interesting how easy it is to get a message across to others without saying a word!

So, what are you telling the world, as a Christian, through your body language? What do you do in your kitchen, your car, or when you're sitting around with your friends, and what does it reveal to others about your faith in Christ?

Jill challenges us to look at the ways we can use every part of our body to bring glory to God!

The fields are ready—people are dry and waiting to hear a message of hope, meaning and purpose of life. The seed, the Word of God, is dynamic, powerful, precious and full of life. God calls those in His kingdom to share this good news. Like a farmer sowing seed, we are to be spiritual farmers generously spreading God's truth.  But why is it so hard to share our faith? Is it that we're waiting for perfect weather before risking to go out in the fields? Or are we not seeing the lost the way God does? Are we not aware there's an enemy circling us, seeking to thwart our plans and snatch the seed?  With attention-grabbing stories and personal insight, Jill teaches us to focus on being good soil—taking God's truth and with His watering, producing a spiritual harvest for His kingdom.

You probably don’t need to be convinced about how important it is to share life with others. To be friendless in a friendless world is a frightening thing. But have you ever struggled to develop meaningful and precious friendships? In this message, Jill Briscoe teaches about being vulnerable in our relationships and how friendship can deeply impact our lives.

As someone who is made in the image of God, you have a better understanding than you might think about His longing desire for companionship and friendship. Are You a Friend of God? explores Scripture that reveals God's friendships with His people. Enoch was God's walking and talking friend, Job was His hurting friend, and Moses was His waiting friend. What kind of friend are you? In this message Jill Briscoe will shift how you think about your relationship with God and challenge you to identify, and grow in yourself, the characteristics that God is looking for in a friend.

Have you ever been with someone who seemed to have an inner joy even in the midst of a crisis? As Christians, we have the Holy Spirit living in our hearts, which brings incredible joy, and yet it's true that we can lapse into feeling depressed and hopeless. How do we keep our joy? In this message Jill explores how can experience joy on the inside even when things are all wrong on the outside.

When the Holy Spirit comes into our lives, we receive all of Him into all of us. But did you know that we can abuse Him? He is abused when we suppress Him, quench Him, or subdue Him. Limiting Him to only certain areas of our lives is considered abuse... and a sin.
